Beat News: Baumgardner to the Freep
Nick Baumgardner announced on his personal twitter that he'll be moving the the Freep starting next week.
Obviously he replaces Mark Snyder, who left the profession about a month ago. Tough month or so for MLive, which also lost Brendan Quinn to the Athletic.

In other sports reporting news, Daily alums Chantel Jennings (who was let go from ESPN in one of their purges earlier this year) and Nicole Auerbach (previously of USA Today) were hired as part of Stewart Mandel's new website. Both covering college sports in general, and I would guess Auerbach gets to keep covering Olympic swimming. Auerbach also keeps her side gig showing up on BTN's weekly preview show on Fridays.
