While at M Denard --- out of necessity as much as anything else --- played out of his natural RB position, never got the coaching he deserved, and still lit up the field. A football player with rare gifts, here's hoping Denard catches on with the Cowboys or some other team, hangs on in the NFL until his pension vests (6 more seasons?), then returns to Florida or wherever and lives the good life.

Denard chose M because he was promised an opportunity to compete at QB. He set records at QB, it was a perfect position for him at the college level. It wasn't necessity that put him at QB, he played there during Tate's very good freshman year and continued there after Devin Gardner arrived.

QB prospect, but he had some awfully good passing perfomances in big games including Nebraska and OSU, to name two. And there were alot of passes that went well beyond 5 yards in the air. Even some of the so called jump balls for which he was maligned were thrown in the right place to give his receiver a chance to make the play. If that was so easy, everyone would do it.
