What's the best formula for beating Michigan?

Submitted by Bambi on

I only started this thread in a semi circle-jerking manner, but we just beat two good, talented teams that are completely different in play style.

OSU was a fast paced, 3 point shooting, out score you team. Louisville is a slower paced, smother you on defense, out rebound/big man you type team. We managed to beat both in 3 days, granted both in close games.

The rest of the way, what type of play stayle do you think Michigan would struggle with the most? One of the two we just played, something in the middle, or an entirely different type of team?

I think the formula is a team with strong, athletic bigs that can wear down Moe & Wilson, beat us up on the OREB and changes up their looks on D frequently throughou the game.  If a team sticks with one strategy on D we have too many weapons and a coach that will exploit the weakness. Our weakness is physical strength, rebounding and at times (its been several weeks) the offense stops moving and hoists bad 3s late in the shot clock.  Basically hope we have an off night shooting and beat us on the boards.

Completely shut down the 3 ball.  But they screwed up by letting Wagner run wild like that.   And they struggled way too much on offense in the 2nd half.

If they shoot well in the 2nd half and don't let Wagner look like an NBA player, they beat us.  Lucky for us, that didn't happen.   Honestly, I think their general strategy was pretty good.  Our guys just executed too well.
