I hear ya. I know the typical rest periods. I also know teams push the limits during post season. I know Verlander isn't 25 and not quite the pitcher he once was, but he's been pretty solid lately and if I had my pick I would prefer him on the mound. I'm really just asking who would start that wild card came if it was pushed to Wed?

I'd assume Fulmer, but if the Cleveland game isn't played at all (it probably will because Seattle most likely is going to sweep Oakland, and they're only .5 back of Detroit) then I imagine Verlander would pitch the WC.

Verlander has been very good the second half and Fulmer has been good, but the rest of that staff....woof....September wasn't their best month (14-12).

I know the odds are slim, but I am really hoping Seattle finally breaks their 15 year playoff drought.  But with Detroit playing friggin' Atlanta, I have my doubts.

Just so you all know, Cleveland will only have something at stake if they are exactly half a game ahead of Boston after Sunday. Boston owns the tiebreaker so if the Indians are half a game behind, (or somehow get 1.5 up), game 162 wouldn't be necessary
