OT: Former Michigan Recruit Kevin Garnett Retiring
After 21 seasons in the NBA, Kevin Garnett is going to announce his retirement tomorrow.
It's fairly well-known that if he hadn't gone directly from high school to the NBA, Garnett would have been a Wolverine. You'll find that story here.
FWIW, Garnett would have been part of the same recruiting class as Robert Traylor, Louis Bullock and Albert White.

"My fav KG story...his first day back in MN he beat me to the gym 2 hours early...I was a rookie and always first to the gym. I walk into the gym and hear someone cussing hisself out going full speed in the dark *crying/laughing emoji*. He sees me and says "I'm getting old I played with your pops." I've never been around a teammate that worked harder and had your back no matter what. My man is a legend!"

Thread title made me laugh. My mind flashed to him as a guest on ESPN while the chyron reads "Kevin Garnett, Former Michigan Recruit"

There was an article last year by NBA.com and it asked players who went from high school straight to the NBA where they would have gone to college. Kevin Garnett's answer was something along the lines of him "shocking the world" and choosing Maryland.

and K.G. is changing his tune a bit. He said he was "completely shocked when I learned I passed the test." But he also went on to say, "Tractor is my man. I would have gone to Michigan if I had known I would pass the ACTs." Regardless, doesn't matter. I never liked the ones and done. Unless they are good enough to get you a championship, seems like a waste of time in recruiting.
