NEW Season Ticket Holder - POSBANG

Submitted by cweerapp on

Grew up about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor and still remember my first game when I was 6 at the Big House where Tim Biakabutuka ran for 313 against OSU. Always dreamt of going to U of M from that moment on and could not wait to be able to attend the games each weekend. Moved to Austin post graduation but made it a priority to come back to Ann Arbor during football season. Today I can finally do that without scouring stubhub each Friday night. Here's to everyone else in my shoes, and holding on to these bad boys for the next 50 years!

Hurt like hell when I had to give two up about a decade ago. Sec 2, row 37, aisle seats 14-17, with my bro-n-law having nabbed 4 years ago after he graduated. He played in the Bump era. Was opening a new business and the franchise fee hit and damn, those $54 tickets got expensive, like 1300 a year and you had no guarantee on how good the schedule was. Or maybe it was 1300 on top of the 54. Can't recall.

I thought I handled it pretty  well though. Site I belonged to had a ticket exchange but I thought I'd offer them to some regular posters. Got about 5 emails w/in a min. The 6th one knew how to play the game. Instead of asking a little more about them, etc. - I mean the stadium map is a few keystrokes away- finally just opened up an email that said, "I'll take them." He did damn good too. Didn't have to wait for years and had kick ass seats.

So, yeah I know how good you feel.. Hope you enjoy another golden era of UM football.

When I was a student in a grad program, I had student season tickets for two. I didn't start college until I was 28, but eventually made my way into grad school in my early 30's. Student ticket prices were good and my son was about 10 at the time so we had a good time. I was a little annoyed by the 19 yr old students constantly standing and jumping and always someone sitting in my space. There was no real point in sitting as the benches were always full of dirty slush from their boots.  I was going on 19 years old for the second time and I just wanted to sit down. I used to look over longingly at the rest of the crowd who sat down and I thought to myself, "One day I'm going to get one of those big boy seats". Well, the day came when I finished school and my renewal came up for the tickets. I went to the ticket office and asked to switch the students tickets out for regular attendance season tickets since I completed school. The girl at the window said she had me on file and she was going to put me down for student tickets. I told her I wasn't a student anymore, I don't want to sit with the students,  and I want the regular season passes and if you can't put me down for that, then don't put me down for anything at all. That ended our conversation. That also ended my season tickets. I never heard back from the ticket office. I guess I had one final lesson to learn. HaHa
