Louisville MBB Self-Imposes One Year Postseason Ban
Louisville is going to announce that they will be announcing a one-year postseason ban for their men's basketball team in the wake of the recruiting scandal.
Press conference supposedly to come at 1:30 PM ET.

And, does anyone care that it's for this year, not next? Seems like the current players don't get a chance to either play -- or get out of dodge. If they did it for next year, then current players could transfer and current recruits could go elsewhere. (I get that some of the current players might not be total innocents, but unless we know which ones . . .)

I wish that was all Ed Martin did. We could've self-imposed a ban on the 1998 tournament, stopped any further investigation, and not been stuck with Brian Ellerbee. I could have gone without seeing us flame out in the second round against UCLA.

For them to self-impose a postseason ban when they're a legitimate national title contender with only nine games left to play, they must have some nasty skeletons that are about to be pulled out of the closet. Popcorn, anyone?

Translation: The NCAA has them by the balls & UL is trying to pre-empt harsher sanctions by self imposing a ban this post-season.
