CC: Bizarre Finish Leaves 49ers 4-4

Submitted by Geaux_Blue on
After allowing the Rams to hang around all game, the 49ers actually fell behind at home 13-10 with approximately 2-3 minutes remaining. In a bizarre series of plays involving pass interference, holding and a near-score, SF had the ball on the Rams 1 with 19 seconds and a TO remaining. Kaepernick fumbled the snap into the end zone for a touchback and Rams win. SF now sits far back in their division at 4-4 with two games remaining against a desperate Seattle team, a game at New Orleans and two final home games against Arizona and San Diego. Given that multiple talking heads have said Harbaugh wouldn't return even with a Super Bowl win, the timing is becoming a little convenient for those who believe UM has a shot with a coach who may be hungry to get people remembering how great of a coach he's been in the past...

wow just realized the Rams game was in San Fran.  I think St Louis is on their 18th QB so that is impressive - Fisher is a damn solid coach as well.

Here is remaining schedule - again I dont think Jim is going to stay there even if they won the Super Bowl but for our concerns the losing is not about getting rid of him but not going to the playoffs which opens him up very conveniently first week of January when Hoke's buyout drops a cool $2M

Remaining schedule

@Saints is looking tough as its a road game and Saints are perking up here, @NYG looked like an easy win 4-5 weeks ago but thats 3 time zones away and Coughlin is solid and NYG are not horrid.  Should beat Washington.  2 games v arch rival Seahawks and if Carroll smells blood in water you know how that goes, let's call it a split at best.  The Raiders are putrid, and San Diego is a mystery.  Cardinals could be playing for home field advantage throughout in Jim's swan song.

So I see 2 guaranteed wins with Raiders and Washington, probably 2 sure losses and 4 toss ups.  8-8 should have them missing the playoffs.

The Wolverine …

Oh and all my Sparty friends keeping saying there is no way Jim Harbaugh is coming to Michigan, it will never happen, and Dantonio's the greatest coach ever, I can't wait to rub it in their faces when it comes true and he makes Dantonio cry on the sideline

I'm sure if Alabama can pay off Saban's house and pay him near $7 million a year, then I'm pretty sure Michigan can do the same or even better. The amount of excitement from Alumni, Fans and players would be insane! I feel it would boost the University's economy past the rest and land Michigan back to number 1 in Merchandise and ticket sales

off the top of my head these are the jobs that could possibly be open next year. Which would JH be interested in if he is no longer with the 49ers?

  1. Jets
  2. Ravens- if John steps down, dont see him going there anyhow
  3. Raiders
  4. Titans
  5. Jaguars
  6. Bears

I think the one most will point to is the Raiders as it keeps him on the West coast (keeps the wife happy). But I think the Bears would be a pretty intersting option as well. The talk earlier was he would go to the Doplhins, however, if they keep playing the way they have I do not see that as an option.
