Taylor Lewan signs with Titans (4 years, $11.5M)
So the dude with the one-line post the other day with the annoying "thoughts?" conclusion can chill out now.
Reportedly it is fully guaranteed with a $6.7M signing bonus.

thoughts?
From a football standpoint he definitely deserves the money. Just hope the dude grows up.
This thread title is annoyingly informative and well done. Please change to something better like "Taylor Lew..."
It's all about the suspense.
Now that he is in the NFL, will Brian stop calling him Lou-en? That was my biggest pet peeve with the MGoPodcasts (actually my only pet peeve).
that the whole "college football players are exploited and need to get paid" meme is bogus. Lewan got far more out of his stay at Michigan than he put in. Take 11.5 million (what he got AFTER his time at Michigan) and subtract what he would have gotten if he'd tried to sign with the NFL BEFORE going to Michigan (hint...that would be $0). The 11.5 million (plus whatever else he makes later in his career) is what Michigan did for him (on top of meals and lodging for his time here, and whatever educational advantages he chose to avail himself of).
His presence here was not worth anything like that much to the program. So who was exploited, if anyone?
A troll by any other name still looks and smells like a troll.
So take your trolling accusations and stick them someplace else, please. He earned the money and good for him. I was pointing out the intellectual bankruptcy of those who claim that college football players are taken advanatge of, and that the colleges benefit far more from the association and should be giving some back. Lewan (and many others like him) certainly wasn't.
What about the vast majority of players who don't make it to the NFL? Michigan football generates $85 million a year so I'd say they do more for the school than they get.
still get a free education, with all of the advantages that go with it, something they would not have gotten otherwise. Ask anyone paying off six figure student loans whether they would have liked to be "exploited" like those players.
That I can understand.
I would like to point out the intellectual bankruptcy of those who claim that the "free college education" these athletes all receive is fair compensation for all or even most athletes, has a set tangiible value for every athlete (or any real value at all), or can even be called an education in many cases.
So you really don't think they are pushed by the coaching staff and advisors into easier, less time consuming majors so they can spend more time on football?
What about the dozens of players who rarely suit up for Michigan? For every Funchess there is a Delonte Hollowell or Jack Miller. Do these guys also deserve millions of dollars? What happens when the star RB isn't performing? Does he get booted out of the school to free up money? That would be a step backwards from the 4 year scholarships the big ten recently started handing out. Don't want to play school and want to get paid now? You can play in the CFL, AFL, or overseas for basketball.
