Let's Go Blue! Licensed to kill gophers?
And stay out of the damn box!
Way OT but the Minnesota high school tournament has a legit great story. Background: Greenway, a small school on the iron range, plays in the same section as 800-pound Gorilla Hermantown, which has dominated the state in single A for 10 years, so they never make the state tournament.
Anyway, their best player, Donte Lawson, has a little brother who has lived with serious kidney issues his whole life. They found a kidney for a replacement and it was scheduled in Minneapolis for the same time as a playoff game, the section semifinal. The brother told Donte to play, so he drove up to Duluth, led his team to victory, and drove back down. He didn’t skate for 3 days until the section final against Hermantown, the state title favorite.
He scored the winning goal.
So Greenway has gone to the state tournament in St. Paul.
They’ve won twice this week. They’re in the single A state final tomorrow.
1:13 of U-M PP.
No joy. Hughes has not taken a shift in OT.
10:54 to go. 2-2.
Fuck. Lambert for tripping.
Thanks for the updates I Bleed Maize N Blue. It is so frustrating that across all sports Michigan seems to never be able to hold a lead and close out an opponent.
There is plenty of evidence to the contrary.
Damnit. Tripping on Lambert.
Van Wyhe gets to puck, break with Raabe, but Raabe shot is saved.
FUCK! They score. Game over.
FUCK fuck Fuck fuck fuck
Dammit, Summers lost his man as Pitlick skated behind the endline, but passed it in front. Gopher slid to top right of crease and put home the one-timer.
Figures
I’m really sick of losing post season games 3-2
All season long
What a disappointing season...lots of choke games like this
PSU tied it at 3 with 2 goals in the 3rd, but WI scores and wins 4-3.
Is it over yet? End it already and come back next season ?
There is no lead in all of sports that is more illusory than a two-goal lead in hockey.
