Over 50 years ago-though only by a matter on months, our HS coach made a deal with Adidas to supply us with shoes. At that time the Converse All-Star was the shoe of choice. Adidas was new on the scene and we (players) were skeptical...but Adidas did us right-replaced defective shoes...clearly they were in a learning phase. We learned to love that shoe even though, OMG!!!, it was a low-top shoe...and our ankles would surely break!!! (We had Pinckney's first winning season in many, many years-clearly it was the shoe!)
