U-M Hockey vs FYS - Fri Open Thread
FYS is coming to Yost tonight, before tomorrow's Duel in the D. If you listend to the last MGoHockeyCast, then you heard that FYS has become competent. In addition they play us tough. So U-M has its work cut out for it to overcome that and recent tendency to win then lose. Both teams have 24 pts, tied for 4th in conference, 3 pts behind #2 MN, a pt behind #3 ND, and 2 pts ahead of #6 WI.

Coach postgame interview with Andrew Merrick: says he's happy with the b-day present, but happier for the team, they've worked very hard since September. But they need to play better with the lead, play much better tomorrow. Becker needs to stay out of the box. Had 2 goals, but 2 penalties. Doesn't know what Luke Martin's status is yet.
Currently tied with MN at 27 pts in 2nd place, but that's only 5 pts ahead of last (pending result of OSU-WI). We need to get points tomorrow.

First hockey game Ive went to in a looong time. Crowd was great. Such an awesome time and good to see the student cheers still going strong after all these years.
