OT: Weekend drinking thread
It's a slow Michigan-news related week, so I will start the dreaded weekend drinking thread.
Waiting to goto Annapolis, MD for dinner (Red Red Wine, ACME, or the new place Factors Row) and oysters...
1) Firestone Double Jack IPA: Yikes, quite a kick. Feel every bit of the 9.5% ABV
2) DogfishHead 60 Minute IPA while my 61 Minute IPA chills in the fridge (great summer beer...just like the 90 Minute, though, comes in a 4-pack).
3) Fresh-squeezed limejuice Margarita with Patron Orange Liquer and Cuervo Silver.
Tomorrow will be AYCD Bloody Mary's and Mimosas for brunch in Fell's Point, Baltimore, followed by fresh steamed clams & mussels in a white-wine garlic/butter/chives sauce.
Water from the Olentangy River. May I rest in peace.
Better than the Cuyahoga circa 1969.
A couple months ago I had no choice but to drink water from the Housatonic river. You know, the one you're not allowed to eat the fish from. Ended up visiting the loo 8 times before lunch.
How did you have no choice?
My guess is he was hiking and needed water.
Certainly a reasonable guess. I'm still kind of curious to hear it from him.
Winner winner chicken dinner.
Normally I'd just tough it out until the next water source, but I had just drank the rest of my water, and then realized I needed to take some Aleve before bed. Take that stuff without water, and it'll tear apart your esophagus and stomach.
Well evidently so did the water.
Sorry to hear that. Games like tonight are exactly why it's so difficult to watch the Tigers.
Right now, I am watching the Tigers with two completely dead asleep kids having a faux camping expedition in the family room. Little do they know that they have two kittens crawling all over them wondering what the hell happened in here. As for drinks, I have switched from Angry Orchard Cider to Blue Moon. The two tastes work well together, strangely enough.
Your life sounds better than mine.
Make me.
Precisely.
we raise just got out of the oven and i carved them up. we pasture our poultry and, though i am certainly biased, we raise the best chickens on the planet.
wine tonight. anniversary. children will be giving us gifts - little stuff like cute drawings, a card, etc. they want to watch the now-17 yr old wedding video and that seems like a fine idea.
or almost, she is the greatest.
How do you drink a fudge stripe? What is a fudge stripe?
