OT: Tigers late night: 4/17
I know some hate the constant Tigers thread, but I thought since we are on a west coast venture it wouldn't bother too many.
Anyway, Scherzer is starting. Hopefully he gets that fastball tuned right. As always, let's get those bats going so we don't have to rely on our bullpen.
Go Tigers!
...as I was going to give up on the game 20 minutes or so ago when I lost my DTV signal due to heavy rain, but right as I was heading to bed the signal came back and now I'm watching again.
Now its up to each of us to upvote anyone willing to tough it out past 2AM....
:-)

I was there for the first 12. But takes an hour to get home and my son has school today so had to leave.
Take the lead 2 - 1 !!!
Bases-loaded ground-out by Pena drives in the go-ahead run...
Check that, they went with Benoit.
if Benoit blows this...
Big collision at the plate but Pena holds on!
Tigers Win...I...I just...whatever *faceplants keyboard*
Benoit gets the 1st out on a pop-up, but the next hitter (Smoat) singles. Then an infield pop-out to Miggy, but then...double to the corner, ball is relayed in by Torii Hunter to Prince, who fires it (not a strike but up the 3rd base line) to Pena, who has the ball in plenty of time to brace for a collision by Smoat, the big, slow-footed 1B of the Mariners. Pena made the tag and held on but gave us a scare by laying there quivering on the ground for nearly a minute...
Good recap, but it's Smoak.
Tough play by Pena. At first the way he lay there it looked like his shoulder got injured...thankfully he looks ok though just shaken up. This Tiger team is starting to get rolling now. With that starting pitching, they will be able to avoid long losing streaks this year.
Also Pena wins the most awesome celebration ever with his fist pump holding the baseball after getting decked and still laying on the field.
Well I woke up to Rod Allen yelling at Torii to get the ball in, so I at least saw the final play. Good game, good win, hope JV goes 8 tomorrow afternoon.
0-11 with 9 Ks so far. Yeesh.
Quite the display of relief pitching in addition to Scherzer. Ought to silence some of the naysayers for at least a little while. And how about Peña???
I remember last year when we seemed to always lose extra inning games.

I got to celebrate when they showed the highlights on sports center this morning at the gym.
