But the way I read into it is that we cooled on him...I think he wants to go against the grain and isn't getting all the love from RichRod that he possibly once did.
I still say Miami or Oregon

that he's SOL not only at M but the Canes too. Delaying a commitment likely narrowed his "committable" options. My money is on State (at which point hundreds of M fans on this board will see their heads explode with all the additional myriad articles about the dominance of in state recruiting in EL).
from all I have read/heard it really appeared that RR and company had cooled on him because of all the interest we were getting from other DB's that ime are better than him.
With Knight possibly out of the picture this could be a mistake though.

If it is between Oregon and MSU. Please go to Oregon! I don't want to have to deal with another week of the "another recruiting victory/ new sheriff in town/ Mark Dantonio owns the state of Michigan crap" from all the sparty slappys.

I think it's most likely MSU. I think he ends up listening to his mom whine about staying close.
I think it will ultimately end up being State with Miami a close second. I think we cooled on him because he wasn't performing all that well at camps and we were getting a lot of interest from other defensive backs that were performing better than he was. Ultimately if he ends up going to State we will again have to listen to sparties claim they dominate in-state recruiting.
Mathis' performance at camp is why Michigan has slowed off the pedal, we've seen all the pictures of Gardner burning Mathis. And hes supposed to be a top corner? No doubt about it, Mathis is fast but he's real small and when playing against better competition, he has failed to impress.
Dont get me wrong, if Cullen Christian, Tony Grimes, or Rashad Knight all decide not to commit Id take Mathis in a heartbeat. I just think Michigan, the fans, and Dior himself see that he isnt a top target for the Wolverines.
As for MSU claiming victory...who cares? The victory is won on the field and until MSU can win 2 games in a row, they have no way to yell victory. Sorry but slower midwestern kids just dont fit RR's offense for the most part.
Well, we really need two of the four (Christian, Grimes, Knight, Mathis). If Turner and Witty don't qualify, we probably need all of them.
