OT- Charles Rogers OTL
I don't buy the slant that they are blaming his decline on the drugs. Smoking every day did not take his speed because I can guarantee he has smoked everyday since grade school(I cannot, in fact, guarantee this). His speed declined with being a pussy and breaking himself every year and when not getting injured every practice he was downing pain killers and smoking weed. Now I am not sure if this is the full story, but they ended the preview saying the drugs took their toll and that is what I am basing this opinion on.

Naturally it makes sense to judge any revelations in a much longer piece based on a short teaser clip
Ya, but said teaser clip blatantly blamed it on drugs.
i thought we were supposed to
Blame it on the per-per-per-per-per-personnel
Blame it on the per-per-per-per-per-personnel
The reason he sucks is because he went to MSU. Duh.
The weed didn't break his collarbone multiple times, so I find it difficult to blame his disaster of an nfl career on drugs.
I think his collarbone broke because of the crack.
And you get a +1.
Imagine that MSU team back in the Smoker/Rogers days. A body probably would have gotten a contact high just walking through the locker room.
To blame an ex-MSU/current-Lions player's failures on anything other than MSU/Lions requires the very definition of an unnecessary postulate.
He can barley hold a convo. I mean you can't even understand him. When will this air?
How does grass or a broken collar bone cause someone to lose their speed? My knowledge of drugs is extremely limited, but could crack cause this to happen? He was thin, but maybe some steroids helped him run a 4.3 40 time? Regardless, you would think someone in their 20s could regain their speed.
Charles Rogers and Tony Mandarich...two reasons to think hard about drafting a Spartan really high (pun intended).
Honestly the guy was an athletic freak much like many of our highly drafted wide outs and defensive backs. The only difference is that coming from Michigan they received an education while at Michigan State they learned how to sign a huge rookie contract and make collarbones out of paper mache.

And Smoker was the pill-popper?

No, Smoker was the "Snort White" to Chuck Rogers' "Smoke Green".
