Trey Burke for Frosh of the Year
The folks at CBS Sportsline have updated their Freshman of the Year list. Trey Burke now checks in as the number three freshman in the country in their estimation. This puts him in the top spot for the Big Ten, ahead of Cody Zeller of Indiana.
He trails Michael Kidd-Gilchrist of Kentucky, and their number one, Anthony Davis of Kentucky.
This also puts him ahead of celebrated prospects, some of whom would have gone straight to the NBA, if the rules did not prohibit them from doing so.
Not bad for a guy who some looked at as more of an afterthought than a star player in the making.
Here's the whole article . . .

Someone get DJ Augustine to call Burke and tell him "the NBA doesn't take kindly to smallish point guards... so stay at Michigan for 4 years" kthxbye.
EDIT- checked Augustine's stats after posting. turns out hes actually putting up decent stats. damnit.

Of course CBS would have two SEC players ahead of a big ten player.

Sorry guys, but I gotta vote for Anthony as he was one of my former students. Nice kid too. Burke gets my runner-up vote.

As long as this doesn't give him the impression that he should head to the NBA next season!

I only care about the Big Ten award and I feel Zeller is going to get it whether he deserves it over Trey or not. IU is the big media darling this year and it makes me sick.

Burke and hardaway need to stay. Their values are going to increase next year after they win the big ten and make a final four run.
