A 7-5 Iowa team gets to tangle with a 9-3 Oklahoma team.
As much as I love the B1G since my alma mater is in it, I must say that this game should not look terribly promising for Hawkeye fans. I dare say that Oklahoma holds answers to football questions that you never asked.
I hate to say it, but I went Oklahoma in the pool. I just don't see the Hawkeyes pulling this one out unless there is a case of the trots that has been going around of late.
ESPN at 10 PM EST. Be there.

How did we lose to Iowa again?

Monkeys fall out of trees man.

They had their starting RB who ran constantly at our freshman OLBs, plus we tried that whole I-form offense that doesn't work for most of the game. Consider it a casualty of our team and staff growing. If that wouldn't have failed so much in the Iowa game, we may have tried the same the last three games of the season. But, Borges figured out what works, and we finished strong instead.

All things considered, I'd rather lose to Iowa and beat Ohio. I just can't believe they aren't getting McNutt into the game more.

We played them when they were healthy (Coker), while (IIRC) Denard was banged up from the MSU game and his carries had to be limited. Also, it was in Iowa City.

Alright, now for another 8 min drive that Oklahoma will be happy to give up. Go Ferentz!

Iowa suddenly realizes what the rest of the Big 12 realized 3 years ago. "Oh! Passing!"

Okay, so on the one hand we've got guys buying the surprise Lexus for their wife with the spare $50k they forgot about in their back pocket and also buy a customized guitar hero game.
On the other hand, GMC is offering to let you have 0% financing for 6 years.
We've got two very different demographics watching this game.

Davis is intent on trying to lose this game for Iowa, isn't he?
December 31st, 2011 at 1:01 AM ^
Iowa must not like to play from inside the 5.
December 31st, 2011 at 1:03 AM ^
What in the hell was that play call? Since when have you been able to get the edge of that defense at all tonight Iowa?
EDIT: Alright, now that screen was a very good call. Touche Iowa OC. Touche.

He has more intentional throwaways in this game than Denard does in his career.

Sooners up by a score. This could get interesting.

How I hate Oklahoma, the Big 8/12/whatever, Texas and their collectively over rated schedules. As we learned from the Nebraska experience, Oklahoma is just not that good.
December 31st, 2011 at 1:05 AM ^
And I never thought a number 16 jersey could look better. Hello blonde

The game gets interesting.

"Why score the game clinching touchdown when I can just dive at the ground instead?"

I've always wondered what would happen if one of those things fell out of the sky. Now I know. It wasn't as cool as I thought it would be.

in abandoning the run game at this point, is there? Got to keep OU's offense off the field, right?

December 31st, 2011 at 1:33 AM ^
Norm Parker have money on the game? (Hey, he's retiring!)

Though not sure why more teams don't do that. Only chance to win after getting the 1st is to let them score. Odds are more thin than slim to none, but >0.

OMG Bob Stoops to Iowa as defensive coordinator!
