Happy 113th Birthday to "The Victors."
113 years ago today, November 24, 1898, the University of Michigan defeated the University of Chicago 12-11 on Thanksgiving Day in Chicago, winning their first Western Conference Championship in the process. Louis Elbel, a U of M School of Music student who traveled to Chicago to see the game, penned the lyrics to The Victors that night in celebration of the victory he witnessed.
On this Thanksgiving Day, I'm thankful for the Greatest College Fight Song Ever Written.

John Phillip Sousa agrees with us.
Can anyone name the fight song before "The Victors"?

"There'll Be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight" was unofficially the song. Others probably know it by hearing it after Wisconsin scores a touchdown.
Here's a link (didn't want to take away from the Victors by posting a vid of another song): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNG6j4_8xVI
