ACE: Taylor McNamara Considering Michigan Visit

Submitted by Ace on

Taylor McNamara, a four-star TE to Rivals, ESPN, and 247 (and a three-star to Scout) just sent out this tweet:

@taylormcnamara1 Taylor McNamara
Considering canceling an official and taking one to #Michigan...

That would obviously be huge for Michigan, and would fill the void left by Pharaoh Brown's decommit/parting of ways. He's already taken visits to Colorado, Notre Dame, and Washington, and has scheduled visits to Oklahoma and Cal over the next month. This is one to keep a close eye on.

[EDIT: I should note that McNamara is currently a very soft commit to Arizona, but it really looks like he'll be heading elsewhere. I don't think the hiring of Rich Rodriguez will change that.]

Visited ND for the BC game this past weekend. He said that he liked the way ND used tight ends. Absolutely loved the campus. Only concern was the Depth Chart which isn't a issue at Michigan. I would say ND has a large lead in the race to get him but ND has not offered yet. I'd say Michigan has as good of a shot as anyone if ND never offers.

I don't know who was negging me about saying McNamara would be the obvious replacement to Brown (saying he was a DE and it didn't affect TEs)...but have some crow, on the house.

Correct me if I'm wrong doesn't Michigan run a pro style offense or as soon as Denard and Gardner graduate they will switch to pro correct? He would have to add significant bulk and strength to be able to block in a pro style Attack. Right now all he is is a big WR. He fits NDs spread perfectly though.

Agreed Philly, nick Lange you are clueless if you think the spread does not utilize tight ends. Tyler Eifert is leading the nation in receptions and 2nd in receiving yards for TEs. They play in a spread too.
