I don't have to hear Neil Diamond or Journey again. But I probably will...

Hands down. Sweet Caroline is overplayed and sappy.

Agree. Nothing associated with the Boston Red Sox should ever be celebrated here.

One night as I was wandering around Ann Arbor, I heard a carload of girls playing Sweet Caroline and I could swear they were saying, "What the fuck" to that tune.

sweet caroline is great for the older crowd...they get into it big time...which in turn gets them more vocal for the game....So I think they will always play that song.

I don't think it's the older crowd in the student section yelling out the chorus. It's a drunk-in-the-bar song, so it goes over well with the kids. A terrible choice for Michigan Stadium (not that I have anything against college kids having fun with drinks).

that Pop Evil song

Voted for Thriller today and will vote for Lose Yourself tomorrow, although that one sounds like a tricky rhythm to pull off for a marching band. Would be interesting.

Just practice the melody with a metronome five hours a day for a few days and you'll learn it and can perform it in unison as long as everyone locks into and feels the same pulse.

They already performed Lose Yourself at the Eastern game for their "Imported from Michigan" show.

I like Thriller, as well. It will be a natural for the trumpet/cornet section.

I guess I'll vote for the twofer! Thought Thriller would be a good choice.

How about something that I can hear? I am in row 6 mind you and I am not a blue hair, Im 26, and I still cannot never tell what the band is playing at halftime.

Respect!

So, we're voting for songs that they play every week anyway? Something tells me they'll play all of these no matter what the vote is.

Does anyone know if the MMB has ever performed Springsteen's "Born to Run"?
I've always thought that would be a killer tune to do for any marching band, especially the MMB who would put a great performance with the music.

Can a marching band play mash-ups? Thinking Pop Evil + Neil Diamond = Evil Caroline.

Go to this link tomorrow and vote for Rocky the Flying Squirrel! I would really like to hear that in the big house.
