The day Bono dies will be a Beautiful Day.
The video was good, I just watched it on mute.

Thats why they performed at Spartan stadium and not at The Big House, haha.

Over the past week that I swear to myself that I won't watch the next one. Yet I know that when I get back to my computer I'm going to end up watching it.

Has anyone made a video with Rilo Kiley's "Better Son/Daughter" yet?

Honestly, I think those were Rodriguez-era specials.

My favorite team and my all time favorite band brought together by the wonders of technology. What could be better? Nice job kirtip, I loved it!

It's not a bad choice and was actually a good choice for the opener. The angle of the dangle I guess is, fuck Bono.

Since when is A beautiful day a terrible song? I'm not a U2 fan, but this is one of their songs I don't mind.
August 28th, 2011 at 10:22 PM ^
That was my 2nd favorite behind the My Time hype video for 2010.

Nice video

...U2. You don't care for their style, you don't care for their sound, you don't like Bono's politics or you don't like their last album (I would agree). But you can't say they suck or that they're a terrible band. They've been one of the most popular bands in Rock history for some time now. They've won 22 Grammy's, a Golden Globe, 2 People's Choice Awards and World Music Awards, several MTV Awards and Brit Awards plus they've been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They clearly don't suck. They are very good at what they do. You may not care for them and that's your perogative. I don't like Katy Perry, Fifty Cent and Garth Brooks but that doesn't mean they suck. BTW, I like the video and the music thanks for putting it together.
August 28th, 2011 at 10:27 PM ^
They fucking suck.
August 28th, 2011 at 11:40 PM ^
...clearly you're a man with an expansive vocabulary.
August 29th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
The world would be a better place if they never existed.
You're the one that said people couldn't say they suck. I disagree. Music is 100% subjective. I think U2 sucks. You don't. That's fine with me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But to tell someone they can't say that U2 sucks is ridiculous.
The Titanic won a gazillion awards and made more money than sin. I think it's a terrible movie. Except for the part where that person fell off and hit the propeller, that was awesome.
August 29th, 2011 at 8:58 PM ^
...just because you don't like U2 doesn't mean they suck. You didn't say I think they suck. That would have at least been qualitative. You said "Nope. They Suck." Someone may not like Mozart or Bach, but they still must recognize and respect the contributions they made to their craft. I may not care for Rembrandt but I still can reconize and accept that he was one of the masters. Saying they suck is making a unilateral judgement regardless of perspective. In this case that is simply not valid. So you may not like them or you may "think" they suck but that doesn't mean they actually do. And to openly wish the death of someone like Bono is a little disturbing.

Next time I'm watching a baseball game and I feel the urge to scream, "Brandon Inge sucks!" I'll be sure to yell, "Brandon Inge, it is my opinion that you fucking suck compared to other major league baseball players [and midgets with terrible tattoos] because only 1 in a million people make an mlb roster so you clearly don't really suck, I recognize and respect the contributions you've made to the sport, I just want to make sure everyone around me knows that this is my opinion."
By the way, I've openly wished death upon half of New York City, all of New Jersey, the Michigan Marching Band, Lee Corso, and Section 1 in the past few months. I know the internet is seriouz bizness and all, but I think you're reading WAY too much in any thing I post. Maybe you're just too new around here.
Finally, I could tell you were a Titanic fan.
August 30th, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
...have meaning. It's important to choose them carefully. Your "internet" disclaimer seems to serve as alleviation from any responsibility for your words. I myself don't make such distinctions. The convention of discourse should apply no matter what the medium is.
As far as Brandon Inge is concerned he actually does suck. What would have made a better comparison is to say that you think someone like A-rod sucks. Clearly he's one of the best players of his age but at times has a tendency to disappear in October, get ridiculous contracts and cheat on his wife. Because of those things you might say he sucks but clearly that's not accurate.
That being said I think the more important point is that saying someone sucks in front of your buddies is much different than making those assertions in a pulic forum. One may escape unnoticed. The other is very likely to draw criticism. So when speaking publicly in such diametric extremes you may want to give pause to that.
To openly wish death so flippantly on so many may, on the surface, seem humorous but when done so wantonly as you it says something else.
Finally, I wasn't a Titanic fan. I only saw it once and would never watch it again. It didn't suck, I just didn't like it. I can see why it was critically acclaimed but I'd much rather watch The Bourne Identity or Gladiator.

After being around for over 2 years, this is how I think of MGoBlog. It's a gigantic group of buddies. If you don't picture it that way, that's too bad. The majority of the people around here know that I've made about 7 posts that were intended to be taken 100% seriously. (All 7 were about cat pictures. True story. I fucking love them).

I like that you allowed most of the plays to develop. I find it frustrating when hype videos cut off plays and just show little snippets of someone running fast out of context.
Also, I'm not a big fan of U2 in the last 15 years or so, but a) that's not a bad song, and b) I don't understand why people have such a level of hatred for U2. Sure, Bono may be self-righteous and annoying at times, but he's accomplished so much more (musically and socially/environmentally) than most other musicians and celebrities. That being said, Joshua Tree and Achung Baby are incredible albums, and although taste is subjective I'm not sure how people can say U2 "sucks."

Way better than the VMAs. 6 days unitl the Hoke train kicks off...I think we're in for a great surprise.

That last play gives me chills every time. Definitely one of my favorite plays ever, if not the top one.
August 28th, 2011 at 11:16 PM ^
It's popular now. Korn's get up with Scrillex would be unreal to put on a hype video. Just saying. Good work, since I can never make one. Watching the hype videos are always a great peace of entertainment for me. The memories I have watching the plays happen, where was I and who was with me! Thanks again!

All I can say is that I am glad I won't be needing binoculars to see the scoreboard this year. They look so small in the beginning of this video.

Denard's 87 yard TD run against Notre Dame every day for the rest of my life and not get sick of it.
