The Elite 11 Finals took place this past weekend in California with 25 finalists competing for 12 spots at Nike's The Opening in Oregon.  2018 QB Tyler Shough earned one of the twelve spots.  Unfortunately, Joe Milton missed the cut.

The rest of the group consists of:

Trevor Lawrence - Clemson

Justin Fields - Penn State

Tanner McKee - Mormon Mission (LINK)

Jack Tuttle - Utah

Devin Leary - NC State

Cammon Cooper - Washington State

Quincy Patterson - Virginia Tech

Jarren Williams - Kentucky

Matt Corral - USC

Justin Rogers - Undecided

This is 247 sports opinion and not the official Elite 11 camp rankings which should be released soon. Former Michigan commit Messiah Deweaver did not make the top 11.

7. Brandon Peters (Michigan commit) – Peters is one of the best quarterbacks in the Elite 11 from release to completion. The ball is always on target with spin and velocity. If he picks up the pace in his drops and delivery, adds some more urgency, he has a chance to be one of the best quarterbacks in this group.

Devin Gardner continues his offseason preps by serving as an Elite 11 counselor alongside Johnny Football, Tajh Boyd and Teddy Bridgewater among others. Bruce Feldman reports.

Devin Gardner sits alone in a sixth-floor hotel boardroom studying a binder full of some 200 plays at 9:20 a.m. on Friday morning. The room has been turned into a classroom setting with five rows of seats, a projector screen up front and a big whiteboard to the right. The chiseled 6-foot-4, 215-pound Michigan quarterback is seated in the first row of desks. He's 40 minutes early.

Gardner is determined to always try to be the first one to show up for meetings, and this time, he is. The group gathering in the hotel is here for the first staff meeting of the 2013 Elite 11.

I have no doubt that Gardner is planning for 2013 to be his final year at Michigan, and events like these are designed to increase his readiness for the season and show the NFL that he'll be ready for the 2014 draft. Definitely worth a read.

[Edit: Whatever you think of my prediction regarding how long Gardner will stay at Michigan, that comment is really beside the point. Read the article and learn about what kind of summer he's having. Then get even more excited about the upcoming season.]

This was a test of a new technique that I'm using to rip and process ESPN3 streams. It's not 720p but if people think the quality is watchable, I can have full games and highlights up on Saturday nights this year.

Last day of Elite 11 competition. Shane Morris still has not been able to break into the coaches' rankings despite glowing reviews from various recruiting analysts observing the on-field portion of the competition.

Final day of competition includes red zone and 2 minute drill work. Get it done Shane.

Reached the final day. Red Zone 7on7 & Pressure Cooker 2 minute drill. #Elite11

Where are they now? 2009 Elite 11 QBs including Gardner, Bolden & Boisture

Where are they now? 2009 Elite 11 QBs including Gardner, Bolden & Boisture

Submitted by Leaders And Best on May 21st, 2012 at 1:10 PM

I was wondering about this today after hearing the news that Robert Bolden has disappeared from PSU.  Maybe too early to judge this class (now Juniors/RS Soph), but their outlook is not good.  Hopefully Gardner will reach his potential unlike the other star Michigan QBs that year (Bolden-uncertain status at PSU, Boisture-retired at MSU).

Full list:

Blake Bell (committed to Oklahoma) - RS Soph backup who plays Tim Tebow role for Oklahoma in red zone with Landry Jones entering his final season.

Joe Boisture (committed to Michigan State) - retired from football.

Robert Bolden (committed to Penn State) - Junior who lost starting QB to Matt McGloin last 2 years.  Not attended summer workouts and classes this year and future status uncertain.

Tyler Bray (committed to San Diego State) - Switched commitment to Tennessee. 2 year junior starter at Tennessee. Should be one of the elite QBs in college football this year.

Barry Brunetti (committed to West Virginia) - Junior who transferred last year to Ole Miss.  Supplanted as starting QB midseason last year and now battling for starting job again.

Devin Gardner (committed to Michigan) - obvious.

Jake Heaps (committed to BYU)- Junior who just transferred this year to Kansas along with Dayne Crist. Charlie Weis: the refugee camp for failed Elite11 QBs?

Austin Hinder (committed to Cal) - RS Soph not on the two deep depth chart.

Nick Montana (committed to Washington) - RS Soph who just transferred this year to JC.

Jesse Scroggins (uncommitted) - RS Sophomore battling for backup position at USC behind Matt Barkley.

Phillip Sims (committed to Alabama) - RS Soph who just transferred this year to Virginia.

Chandler Whitmer (committed to Illinois) - RS Soph who transferred to JC last year due to lack of playing time (behind Scheelhaase) and just enrolled at UConn.  Maybe Michigan sees him next year in 2013 when play at UConn.
