Messi played like he had something to prove (and did).
Great goal keeping on both sides as pointed out.
Really enjoyed that match.
Looking forward to Man City v Man Utd Thursday.

I did everything the team is doing plus some more museums. It is bringing back lots of memories. Rome and all the cities mentioned inother posts are wonderful. To be honest they have just enough time to scratch the surface in Rome and hopefully it will whet their appetite to travel more and look at life outside football.
I STRONGLY believe you can't spend enough money and time getting educated and traveling. And travel is the ultimate education. If you get to know the people wherever you go, and not just do tours and act like "ugly Americans", you will be enriched in so many ways. I became a history freak after my first world travels.
If you are still in school, try to study abroad for a term. If you are young- backpack in Europe.Best decision you will make.. and yes Italy is an incredible destination. Learn a few Italian words, find an Italian soccer team to root for, and the people will love you.

because their school treats stars differently and they still think they are invincible. I will just stop here until more information comes forth.

If you go to Naples, the best parts are just south of it (Pompeii, Sorrento, and the whole Amalfi Coast). I have been very fortunate to travel all over the world and this area is as beautiful as any place. Please visit! You wont be disappointed . (note: I am not Italian nor work for the Italian Board of Tourism).

are just beyond words and should be on everyone's bucket list.
The whole country and people are magical. Venice, Florence, Amalfi Coast are as good as anything you will see anywhere in the world.

Now they are doing a 180. The MSU trainer, Larry Nassar, story is as horrific as the Sandusky situation. Every week women are coming forward with new awful stories that are creepier and creepier involving minors and video taping that happened on MSU's campus.

I can't stand Crosby but respect his skills. Yet I was thrilled to watch the Pens eliminate the Jackets. I can't stand anything Columbus. Also I root for Ian Cole, the only Cup winner born in Ann Arbor.
|3 days 12 hours ago||Is it mainly baseball or UM stuff that you are interested in?||
For UM football I have gotten memorabilia signed by dropping it off at Schembechler Hall, UM golf outings, the annual bust (years ago) and Bowl Games. There are many charity auctions such as Motts that have nice items. You do have to invest time and money. .. I thought I'd pass things on to my kids but the younger generation is not into autographs much... I have a selfie with Charles Woodson which they think is a lot cooler. Probably similar to my parents who are saving their antique furniture for me to inherit and my wife has zero interest in it,lol.
|3 days 13 hours ago||Joe DiMaggio, Gordie Howe and Ernie Harwell||
My advice is to enjoy meeting the athletes but don't stalk them. Also dont do it as an investment, do it for the love of collecting. Agree that there are mostly fakes out there.
I have tons on cards and signed items but no longer collect them. My favorite cards are 1969 Topps NBA tallboys. Lots of rookie cards. NBA cards
One favorite autographed item is a ball signed by the 1940 Yankees including Joe DiMaggio. My father in law was very sick as a child. The guy who sold the hot dogs to the vendors at Yankee Stadium was a neighbor of his. Mr Hot dog got to go to Yankee spring training and had them sign a ball for a very sick boy, who thankfully recovered. The thing to do back then, which my FIL did, was to shellack the ball, which decreases the value. DiMaggios signature is good but some have faded. It's worth $400 maybe, but I'll never sell it. If had gotten sick a year earlier I would have had Lou Gerhrig,my favorite player ever, though. My FIL and I laugh about that...
I was at a book show in Chicago many years ago. There were 100s of booths of authors and publishers promoting their books. Incredibly Gordie Howe is in a booth alone promoting his book " And Howe!". I almost fall to my knees like I have seen the Messiah and tell Mr. Howe what a rabid Wings fan I am, how my dad took me to my first game at the Olympia and he had his famous Gordie hat trick, etc etc. He then shakes my hand (almost crushing my small hands) and thanks me for being a fan. Then he tells stories for 15 minutes and signs all sorts of items for me. What an incredible talent and nice guy Gordie was.
Finally for my 40th birthday my wife won an auction for me to have lunch with Ernie Harwell. I don't know how much she paid but it was worth every penny. Ernie was the perfect human I wish I could be. So kind and modest. I have an autograph of him and Paul Carey in the old crows nest booth at Tiger Stadium hanging down from the second deck. Ernie told many great stories in that wonderful voice. That autograph is on my desk and I want in my coffin when I pass on.

So "24", I did a trip to Purdue road trip I'm sure no sane person has done. As freshman we got on telegraph road (highway 24) in Detroit and went south to Toledo/Maumee where 24 takes and turn west and goes through buttfuc# Ohio and Buttfuc# Indiana. We took the same road all the way to Logansport, IN (home of Mark Lozier UM hoops in the 70's) which was minutes away from W. LaFayette. The trip would have been reasonable except the Globe Trotters were playing in Fort Wayne and the whole town had a parade and shut traffic down to a stand still.
Ross Ade Stadium was old then and the only thing cool was the big drum. The girls looked like boys and the fun thing to do was cow tipping.

How could supposedly intelligent people ever think tacky Las Vegas glitz would be a good idea in a classic stadium that cherishes tradition and refused advertising?

|5 days 13 hours ago||The guy is a God in Toronto now||
Imagine Harbaugh winning a national championship already and how much more he would be idolized. If the Leafs have any playoff success, and they are poised to do so with their young team, he would surpass that (in Canada anyway). No way he would come to UM or any college program now. He also has a big ego and making Toronto a cup winner is the ultimate challenge.
|5 days 13 hours ago||This sports hero worship is nuts||
It's not just ESPN though. And sadly there are many, many more really mentally unstable people running around society. They just don't happen to be talented athletes. Maybe the only good out of this is to have more discussions on how we as society deal with these people with obvious mental illnesses.

We were have been married 26 years ago and all I wanted in 1991 was a Probert jersey. The guy was electric and quite a skilled player. I saw him battle Domi in Maple Leaf Gardens and Stu Grimson at the Chicago Stadium along with all the battles in the Joe. Everywhere he went ,the crowds were abuzz.
His daughter looks so much like him and I hope she knows how much her dad was adored.
I have gone to a Wings game every year on my Dad's birthday. Last year we celebrated his 88th with him wearing his Yzerman jersey and me with my Probert jersey.
Like my other all time favorite Detroit athlete,Norm Cash, we lost him way too early.
(J. Geils unfortunately passed away today for any old timers who remember great concerts at Cobo arena).
