Apparently Missouri's ace had been hit in the face with a line drive just before we played them. She had facial swelling and understandably didn't pitch very well.
I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often given how close they are to the plate.
I also don't understand why pitchers don't want to chuck balls into the opposing dugouts with all the annoying singing and chirping ALL teams do ALL game. I guess it keeps everyone loose.

My fandom of CFB has indeed waned since I know more about the injuries, how the athletes are basically used as (sometimes disposable) marketing tools for the university, and how football players can not take the same classes as regular students since playng D1 CFB is like having a job.
Back to your question, if my high school son really wanted to play football I wouldn't say absolutely no, but would heavily discourage it for many reasons, mainly spinal injuries and concussions. A couple other sports would fall into this group too. I was very lucky with my high school soccer daughter that she escaped without any serious injuries, and now plays for fun at UM. He swims and plays water polo whose athletes have my full admiration for toughness and discipline.
I root hard for the UM football team because I happen know some of the players, who give it their all by choice, but I wish everyone could know how much these guys sacrifice for the hope of going to the NFL. It is a physical and mental sacrifice most would not want for our kids if they have other options, especially at a great school like UM.
I also like watching UM softball, gymnastics, or swimming amongst other sports just as much as football.

Norm Cash was last man up and came to the plate with a leg from a table instead of a bat. Figured it was just as useless...

If true, PSU should shut down its football program. The kids can be released of their commitments without penalty and the college should have to honor all the financial obligations to the current coaches, BUT SHUT THIS POS PROGRAM DOWN (if true).
I dislike these guys more than OSU.

Most people on Earth are pretty useless. Getting rid of human drivers is a good start to protect ourselves from ourselves.

Losing Pavel and the cap money is really bad. I have a Zetterberg fat head on my wall and love what the guy has done during his Wings' career, but he is close to the end. In two years we'll have about $15 million to buy some players.
We were one Boston cluster fu$% second period away from this season being a failure. Hard to feel more optimistic about next season though.

It's all about recruiting California. Would be curious what our improving recruiting strategy has been. New coaches? Illegal NCAA camps (joking)? Can't be the weather...

was the next story after Cracker Barrel link and needs mentioning. Kicks Cracker Barrel any day for feeding the family economically. Food is crazy good and stupid cheap.
Pizza, Chicken Baken, Beef Brisket are especially good.Try the berry smoothie too. You don't have to be a member to eat there. $20 feeds a family. They now take credit cards.
Plus if you need like a 5 gallon jar of mushrooms a new flat screen TV you can get that too : )
