Ladies and gentlemen, my friend Richard Kimble doesn't feel... well, obviously. So, if you will just go on with your dessert and coffee, I'll be right back. Richard, would you mind to step aside, and we'll just... talk. Okay, so I'll be back in just a second...
If M-Den is the official merchandise retailer of Michigan Athletics, can the Athletic Department ask them not to carry the book? (likewise with say, 3 and Out, which doesn't paint them in a flattering light).
I would have thought that the AD would be able to approve what is sold at their official outlet store.
I mentioned this in the other thread but coming with 10 or so years of live sound experience, I do not for one second believe the mic had anything to do with it. And I know MSC is a very prolific public speaker who is not at all bothered by technology.
And again, if there was an echo or feedback issue, you would here it, like in this video from when Mark Harmon spoke at the Big House (he did just fine). But in MSC video from the weekend, you don't hear any audio feedback or echo.
From behind the Rivals paysite, I think it was Doug Karsch's article that mentioned that Brandon was able to use his connection to Dominos eventually leading to the Nets bball team, Jay Z, etc to get to Beyonce. NASCAR was mentioned as well somehow.
I've been around various UM circles enough (sorry can't be more specific here) to be pretty sure she was asked to come (as evidenced by her apology for not being able to make it) but it is not a pre-req for VIP celebs to be UM fans to be asked to help make appearances at some high profile events....
Don't ask me about some famous celebs who have turned us down..I'd violate some NDA :-)
How exciting are the exhibition games? I'm thinking about bringing some people who have never been to a UM hockey game before, but I don't want to bring them to a sub-par experience.
Is the crowd full? Do the students still do all the cheers?
so forgive this question: Is season opener vs Mercyhurst going to be competitive? I wouldn't have thought so but it's not listed as an exihibition game so......just deciding if I should go.
Then there's um_coachrod even though Coach Rod is probably (hopefully) too busy worrying about UConn than tweeting.
and while it's more bball, you can consider following umhoops (of umhoops.com blog); Dylan does some football tweeting from time to time, esp. during games.
I hate how it messes up traffic (I have to change my commute schedule and route every day) and the few businesses I have talked to don't like it either because it actually takes revenue away from them. (Everyone gets fair food...no one gets a haircut or goes into town to get a haircut, stuff like that, etc).
And I don't like most of what is for sale at art fair.
But. A group I'm with makes a killing on selling parking spots :-)
but not as much as I liked being there at Munn for the Sat game.
Brian, thanks for the write up! Not to be "that creepy fan" but I was only a few rows behind you.
...say that Hogan and Summers "should" have a chance to play on Friday but for Hogan vs. Hunwick it'd be a tough decision "if" Hogan was fully recovered..."he's getting there"
Thanks for the ticket advice.
Great game; it was my first Michigan away-game experience in any sport. My friend and I were in a mostly Spartan section (I got some looks when I kept yelling "Who cares" during the Spartan player intros...not sure what came over me, I coulda gotten a beat down =P)
After the 1st period we left and joined the student section and it got even better because we could cheer and chant with a lot more freedom.
Even though we were a pretty small crowd it felt pretty good to rub it everyone's faces after the win ("Sea-son's O-ver!" etc). The student section made it our own little home game; our hockey culture is a lot stronger and it was obvious tonight.
that 2008 Cap One Bowl has GOT to be worth at least 2 games!
Too bad mgopoints don't count in the BCS...or..anything else in the real [football] world.
"(And before you start, the NCAA NEVER comes down with the hammer on teams that WIN it all, so you can bet the records wouldn't be vacated if that was the case)."
Really?
Do you really think if we won the bball NC that they would not have vacated that? A part of me is glad we didn't win that game to save us the embarrassment of having to vacate a NC.
(I'm a late bloomer btw, wasn't a UM fan back then, it's taken me some time to catch up)
Yep, I originally said: I'd trade the 05 Penn State win for a win against App.
Trading "Henne to Manningham!!!" for "and the kick is good"
I'd trade a huge win for a SINGLE PLAY too: I would trade the 2008 Wisconsin win *just for Roy Roundtree not to have been tackled at the 1 yard line this year in Urbana* (the Illinois loss). I love Roy Squarebush but that single play and the subsequent inability to score a TD from 1 yard out on 4 tries was the tipping point in that game and the start of the downward spiral of the season. (Not the losses to Iowa or MSU, in my opinion)
does anyone know if scalpers still sell tickets that late at the door?
better yet, any chance they let people in for free after say, the 2nd period? (wishful thinking)
...the 05 Penn State win (which I was at) for a win against App (for which I was also at).
Trading "Henne to Manningham!!!" for "and the kick is good"
is that sacrilegious?
I got the last 10.5 and they came yesterday. Got a lot of nice comments this morning when I wore them around to break them in. Gonna wear them to the bball game against Penn State tonight. thanks to the OP for sharing the info!

The canned food drive is a great idea, but if you show your OSU ticket for tomorrow, you can also get in for $1.
If $ is no issue, then you can try the Campus Inn or Bell Tower Hotel, but they are really expensive and may be booked up already due to the game.
There are some places up around North Campus/Plymouth that you can stay...Red Roof Inn, Hampton, Holiday Inn. Try googling or pricelining...

Harmon did ok: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaH6nCdJ-Q8

Blames it on the wireless mic.
I happen to be an audio engineer in a duplicit alternate life and I honestly don't buy it...unfortunately...
and how is it that Mark Harmon knows how to talk normally with a microphone at the Big House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjWWcbnNHr0

Copy the youtube link and go to keepvid.com
Makes downloading a youtube video really easy.
Download it as an iTunes-friendly file and sync it to your iTunes/iPad
Where exactly is the BGSU student section?
....better be worth it. anyone know if there's a seating area most M fans are congregating in?
Thinking about going and would like to be near some Maize and Blue...
This is the true...and it's almost a tossup between how much I'm looking forward to the game vs. eating at buffalo joe's
I can't post new topics so I'll just ask here:
How exciting are the exhibition games? I'm thinking about bringing some people who have never been to a UM hockey game before, but I don't want to bring them to a sub-par experience.

it was when if you looked closely enough you could see a jockstrap on the field that belonged to Darius Flemming
was classic.

I'm not gonna try for all THAT stuff. She wants to know "what the big deal is"
follow QBForce (the Forcier family)

For elephant ears: go next to the MI Union by the Cube. Near the entrance to the MUG Food Court.

Actually I have tix to most home stuff :-) I did mean away, mostly.
Did anyone else wait a long time for the confirmation email to come? (I'm still waiting...a lil worried)
