I am also hunting for some tickets - live in Chicago and can't get up to AA this year so this is my only chance! Would buy 2, 3, or 4 tickets (whatever is available).
Batavia, IL. One of the few people in the media that was RESOUNDINGLY loved, respected, and liked. So rare. A one-of-a-kind gem, and will be missed dearly. I'm sure we will have a ceremony for him in the old BHS gym he used to frequent.
may have been a potential transfer candidate due to a lack of playing time that is unlikely to improve next year (this is based purely on speculation). It will be interesting to see where his dad ends up.
Freakonomics, mgopodcast, Radio Lab, This American Life, Serial, Bill Simmons Podcast are all really good, but everyone has mentioned them. A few from Gimlet Media that haven't been mentioned:
Reply All (formerly TLDR). Loosely technology based, but they even do stories on LSD trips and other fascinating topics. The shows are always interesting and compelling. Highly recommended, especially if you are a TAL fan.
Startup Podcast. If you are into business or entrepreneurship, this gives a great look into starting a company. Essentially a real-world drama. Give it a listen (start with Season 1).
Mystery Show. If you can get past Starlee Kine's voice, Season 1 is really good. Listen to the Britney Spears episode (no seriously). Great way to kill 45 minutes.
Glenbard North has only lost one game this year... To the high school I coach at! Batavia Bulldogs, 9-0 until we picked a bad time to play our worst game (first round of the playoffs).
Anyways, I was at the Batavia Glenbard North game, and Justin was impressive (although largely contained). I thought North's most impressive player was Murphy, the quarterback. He was small but very fast and athletic. He's a beast on the wrestling mats and the football field.
I roomed with Steve Kragthorpe's son in college and played football with him for four years. For those of you who don't know, Steve Kragthorpe was the very successful head coach at Tulsa, moved on to Louisville where he had a tough go of it (Bobby Petrino had left the program in shambles, not surprisingly) and is now the quarterbacks coach at LSU. His son told me that his dad would let him fill out his Top 25 ballot because he didn't have time to watch games and, frankly, didn't care enough to put the time into it. So here is this kid, 9, 10, 11 years old, playing a role in who gets to play for the BCS National Championship. Crazy to me, and proves how silly the coaches poll is.
It is not Tom's responsibility to campaign for the Big Ten. He just won a big football game, and I honestly think helping the image of our conference is far from the forefront of his mind. Let's let him help the image of Michigan by continuing to win football games and being ridiculously good looking
Let me preface this by saying that I've never had a problem with Tebow. Hating a guy for doing all the right things just seems assanine.
So, needless to say, I had no problems with his "speech" following the Ole Miss game. He publicly took responsibility for the loss, and his promise inspired the whole team. What he said really came true.
Tebow never has had a problem with the spotlight or being in front of cameras. That is just who he is. I'm not going to blame the guy for that.
Denard is clearly a guy that loves football and loves Michigan, but doesn't love being interviewed. So, he made his statement in the locker room. Again, that is just who he is.
Tebow's speech became a season-changing moment and a piece of Florida lore. I can only hope that Denard's will have the same effect.
I stumbled upon another Freekbass video, "I'm a Reds Fan"
People, this is circa 2006. 4 years ago! And Freekbass is sporting the same outfit, the same sunglasses, and is playing virtually the same song with background cheerleaders dancing.
Stuff like this makes this blog extra-special, ime. Where else can you ask thousands of brothers (and sisters) to join hands to support a person in need, and truly expect to see a strong response?
My donation has officially been made. I encourage others to help as well.

You can actually turn the autoplay off. I did it using these directions:

Forget to mention Invisibilia, which is also great
Maybe I'm alone in this... But I think those are pretty awesome. Not for Michigan, obviously, but the design is pretty badass. 'Murica FTW
As a native Chicagoan and avid mgoblog reader, this sounds like a great Friday night. I'll try and be there for sure.

"We have learned that you can, in fact, polish a poo"
You can make the poo shiny, yes, but it still smells and acts like poo. I'm looking at you, OSU
Michigan 41
Iowa 10
28-13 Michigan over Northwestern

So when the entire Patriot chearleader team gives birth to left-handed left-footed babies in nine months, we know the reason
I would be interested as well. Any more room? [email protected]
Just curious... How many hours did this take you?
Thanks for doing this.
While it certainly doesn't carry the weight that Brian's UFR would, it offers a nice perspective on individual performances in the game.
Now I can get back to forgetting that this game ever happened.... I can't wait for the calendar to flip
411
What was the final RPS count? I didn't see it in the UFR, and I looked a few times.
We didn't lose. So yay? I guess?

I laughed SO hard when I paused the clip at the exact right moment, revealing Lloyd Brady.
Truly unbelievable.
Forde was clearly joking when he said this... Let's lighten up and enjoy the ride, waddyasay?

Just a day in the life.

Baseball lost a god today.
I will miss his voice, his love for the game, and his community impact.
