In the link provided by govt franzen, police chief Dunlap states that only one player had on a open face mask. He said it was not a ski mask. Is the police chief a good enough source to put the whole ski mask b.s. to rest?
I was just looking at websites in my area that have teaching jobs (I am looking for administration) and saw a posting for a social studies teacher in Otsego. I know that some of you said that this was the area you were trying to get a job in. If you are willing to move, this is a good school district. The job posting can be found on their home page or at www.greatschooljobs.com
We have a clear plastic tailgate box as well. It is great having everything pre packed (minus food). It saves us a lot of time. I would add tent to the list. It is great to have when it is raining or really cold (you can put the walls on). We also have a portable heater.
I feel bad for all of you who are or have been looking for a long time. If you are willing to move, there are positions open (mostly in math, science, special ed) in Kalamazoo, Mattawan, and Vicksburg (all west side of the state schools). I know a lot of schools may not post positions until after the school year starts. Many schools are unsure of enrollment so they wait to see who shows up. If more kids show up then expected, they will open a position and fill it fast.
There are some jobs open but not as many as the legislature hoped. Here is a link that many schools throughout the state use to post positions. Good luck with your search.
As an MSU grad I would have your son to rethink his decision. In your original post you stated he wanted to go into environmental science or psychology. The logical choice would be MSU for both of these programs (of course that is if he does not get into UofM). Refusing to consider MSU because he is a UofM fan may result in him going to a school where he would get an inferior education. I would suggest visiting MSUs campus with someone who went there before he rules them out. I suggest going with someone who went there because it can be a bit overwhelming if you don't know your way around. Also, you could visit some of the science labs on campus so that he could be exposed to the environment he would be in. This a great time of year to visit the campus because it is a great campus to walk around.
