IMG Practices

The IMG Practices are especially excellent. We all accept as given that the SEC bends and often breaks the rules to recruit. Harbaugh (and team) put their heads together and figured out an incredibly creative way to get in front of top recruits without bendnig or breaking a single existing rule. Not only is this a great way to represent the football team in front of top talent, it's also a great way to represent the intelligence and creativity of the University. We're going to be smarter, more creative and harder working to get after those kids, and not run afoul of any rules. It puts the SEC in an impossible position to either be blatantly and transparently hypocritical by pearl clutching about the kids' welfare or be the less innovative, less successful ones. Check mate and slam dunk. Let's all have some subs.

Agree (mostly)

Agree with a lot of what you said, but Wilson will have some productive years ahead of him. He's a talented athlete that is struggling to pick up the mechanics of the offense and is a bit slow to identify things on defense. Repetition and experience will smooth out those rough edges. Chatman on the other hand...not sure what happened to him...doesn't look like  D1 player.

Not a coaching issue...

Hate to blame the kids but this is purely an execution / talent issue, not a Bellein scheme / coaching ability issue. After putting in the painful work of watching the past few games, you can see extreme repetition in the plays called. This is likely the result of Bellein seeing what we're all seeing: (i) very poor perimeter passing, (ii) very poor understanding of spacing / off-ball movement concepts and (iii) sluggish, imprecise movement generally. I think Bellein knows that the kids are struggling with his [incredible] offsense and is pulling back the reins until they demonstrate a bit of understanding of the multiple options and counters his offense incorporates. Hard to argue that defense and maybe recruiting are lackluster recently, but running too many poor defenders out on the floor might be too much for any scheme to overcome.
