The announcers mentioned something about it after the play. I think they said Kalis was the only player wearing a knee brace on out line. Maybe it can't prevent the injury, but it would at least keep the knee from bending backwards (like it did with Newsome).
Would you expect anything different from someone that kept Matt Millen for 7 years. I mean, how do you keep a GM for that long when the team was 50 games under .500?!
WCF will forever be known as the worst owner is sports history. It would be almost impossible to go 56 years in any sport with only one playoff victory. The Jags have 5 playoff wins and they joined the NFL in the mid 90s.

You should not be allowed to dive at someone's knee on either side of the ball.
