whoever advises many of these kids on their draft-night outfits should be fired. bad suits and bad bling is not the way to make your national TV premiere.
i think that guy is a value pick there. athleticism is outstanding. unless there are character issues (none that i know of), they done good getting him.
obviously gifted, but i have to imagine that it's tough on the body and cuts down on their shelf life. only so much the bones and ligaments can take in the human body, and moving that fast with that much bulk has got to take a big toll.
just an observation: for all the talent purchased by ohio, long before NIL was legal or really in force, they have exactly one guy taken so far. admittedly, MHJ, jr deserved it. but that's it. one guy.

and for all or nearly all of the game v. illinois, the sun was out. granted, it was windy and all, but it wasn't an ugly day. we knew what we were headed into though, but proudly claiming my yooper roots, it was no big deal, holy wah!
it was the drive home up north after that game that made that game such a zinger for weather. absolute blizzard, white-out conditions, cars littered on the side of the road the whole way home. i was passing county plow trucks like slalom gates on a ski hill, but we made it home.
i said last season that campbell (MCDC) was the NFL version of harbaugh - took character over flash, toughness over stats, and it paid off big time. i loved his line in the team room, 'these seats are not for everybody'.
was at that NFC champ game in SF. despite the loss, glad that i went. like virtually all of us lions fans (excepting don, who built the pyramids and watched the lions in the coliseum), it was by far the most memorable lions season of my life.
when i played out west i was one of two guys from michigan on the team, the other was our #1 RB who had played at iowa. when it would rain in socal and temps would be in the 40's or 50's, our teammates would complain about the weather. we would shame them mercilessly, using words you cannot say in polite company.
others called you out, not me. i basically asked if you were okay. i didn't neg you, others did. i didn't call you 'so wounded' , 'candyass' or 'an idiot', others did.
you shouldn't be working with children, you have deep issues. you need to be working with a therapist.

FWIW, we have a herd of ford 1-tons, have owned them for decades, and had to replace exactly one tranny on one truck at about 180K miles in that entire time. anecdotal, i know.
and diesel fuel got expensive because.....'we' decided to tax the snot out of it. makes zero sense.
diesel is easier and cheaper to make (we make it here on the farm), you can use much lower grade crude, provides more energy per gallon, and with the new technologies, burns very clean. still a big diesel fan.

IIRC you do or did work on the front end of a GM dealership. if i'm right, did you ever get a feel for whether that small diesel was reliable/dependable/worth getting?
dear wife has a diesel truck and likes it a lot. we share a diesel car and she likes that even more. she's a country mouse though, so maybe different than city mice?

i will say that there have been some incredibly large human beings getting drafted. 6' 8", 6' 9", 340+ and athletic.
i can see that as a very reasonable take, but still, they gave up a metric ton of picks.

i only ever played in outdoor stadiums. much prefer them, weather and all.
i have coached in a domed stadium, it was weird. i'm not going to say it was unpleasant, but there is something missing and i didn't like it as much.
