I agree with this

That this aspect of the potential case was never explored or used by the NC2A as evidence of LOIC is perplexing.

Hey now

I drive an RV. Please get this correct next time. Thank you.

Wow

I too would like to see a chart. Objectivity is crucial when making comparisons. While I think we got off easy against what we could have gotten had disgruntled players/boosters ageed to testify, I think the NCAA set a new penalty standard for institutions who are charged with Failure to Monitor. We can argue all day about whether or not we deserved LOIC, but you can't be put to death when found guilty when you are charged with manslaught instead of murder.

I also would like to hear someone say, based on precedent, what tOSU did deserve. My feeling is that scUM fans believe in the eSECpn hype that we deserved what scUM basketball got....and then therefore a long run of ambiguously succesful teams at best. The bottom line is, fair or not, the NCAA could not prove the higher level of allegations. If this fan base really beleves that the inability or unwillingness to prove stronger accusations is due to the NCAA turning a blind eye (which is only possible if you make an Emmert and Smith connection- which really means nothing since Emmert has nothing to do with the decision or penalties issued), my question would be why would the NCAA show tOSU love like this and not scUM. You all are arguably the institution that merits that kind of double secret protection. Right? All time winniest program....top 25 public university, yadda yadda? Right? RIGHT? Certainly, there must be a # of "Michigan men" involved at the NCAA, right?

Nobody believed something like this could happen at Ann Arbor College just like at tOSU. People are human and make poor choices. My only beef in all of this is that the athletes being penalized are not the ones that commited the penalties while the ones who did are playing in a bowl game on 1/2. That is crazy to me.

Come On

Is anyone on this board a rational person with any ability to think independently at all? I agree that if we get off with only what we self imposed (Forfeit 2010 season, refund Bowl $, Fire Head Coach, 2 years probation, loss of 5 scholarships over 3) that it is a bit light. We should probably see a 1 year bowl ban plus losing 10 schollies over 3 in addition. That said, that you all have to rationalize your ineptitude over the last 10 years and say it had to be because tOSU was cheating is crazy. If anyone at the NCAA could prove cheating went past the last 2 years, they would do it in a heart beat. No program has under gone the scrutiny that tOSU has over the last 12 months. No one. Ever. EVER!  Believe what you want, it only makes it sweeter when we meet on the field next.

Enjoy this bowl season while you can ladies.
