I studied abroad in Rome a couple years ago and Abbey Theatre was the best bet for getting a game, though there's no guarentee they'll have the Michigan game.
Online streams are your best bet.
If you're looking for NFL games, however then Abbey Theatre is money.
I was abroad in the fall of 2008 and was able to catch games at the Drunken Ship in Campo di Fiori. Place is always full of Americans and was a nice piece of home if you're looking for that. They don't always have the Michigan game though, just the national games.
This also ignores the fact that the CBA could be radically different if these guys wait another year to go pro. For a guy like Clausen doesn't the money play more of a factor than anything else?
Your comment about White and Slaton ignores the fact that RR recruited these guys. Yes, Harbaugh has done well at Stanford in terms of recruiting, but if RR could get guys like White and Slaton at WVU what makes you think he can't do the same at Michigan? Furthermore, now that the program is trending positively in wins, what makes you think that recruiting won't improve? Yes, Harbaugh might be able to come in and succeed at Michigan, but I have yet to hear one solid argument as to why RR cannot. If I am missing something feel free to enlighten me, but it seems like you have your mind made up and refuse to hear opposing arguments.
I've had the same thought numerous times this year. #3 turned into a real playmaker this year and I'm glad to see his career end with a good personal performance, if not a win.
Thats a fair point, but I'll submit that a fully healthy Forcier at his current level of development for a full year is still an improvement over this year's is he/ isn't he healthy version.
We're all in accordance that the best QB will start next year, and honestly if a true frosh DG can beat out Tate despite Forcier having a year and a half of being in the system on him I feel like that's not necessarily a bad thing for the program. The play at the QB position will be improved next year regardless of who starts. My money is on Forcier, for obvious reasons, but if he gets out by DG then i think that says more about Gardner than Forcier to be honest, and it means we're in good hands.
I see 8-4 being a slightly pessimistic finish. 5-0 start followed by a tougher schedule. I'm guessing 9-3, though I wouldn't argue with 7-5 to 10-2, bowl obviously excluded.
I can see where you come from, but I guess I just think that the loss won't be as severe as you do. The offense wasn't the same this year without Molk, and I wasn't that impressed with Ortmann. My thoughts on the O-line are that with all these RS guys I don't see too severe of a dropoff. At RB i see that as a reload, Smith looked like a future star today, and the fact is Minor and Brown have both missed significant time. Don't sleep on Toussaint either.
As far as UCONN goes, I'm actually from CT, and I don't see that game being a horribly risky game. UCONN has a great running game, but little else. The passing game is horribly inconsistent and the defense has never shown an ability to stop a potent offense. I see that game being closer than many fans would like, as UCONN's rush attack shortens the game, but in the end I can't see them stopping UM with the weapons we'll have.
I want to post this now in case free speech is revoked again. This team will be markedly better next year. No rational person can deny that the offense will be improved, and as far as the defense is concerned there are signs of improvement. Granted, tressel called a conservative game which helped make us look better, but if warren comes back turner should be a marked improvement over floyd at the 2nd cb spot on athleticism alone, and when kovacs plays close to the line he is a solid player (assuming woolfolk stays at the other safety spot).
As far as the linebackers are concerned, I can see this as being a weakness, but with competent safety play this can be mitigated somewhat. As far as the DL is concerned, Graham is a huge loss, but I am excited about big will and like the idea of moving martin to van bergen's spot and van bergen to grahams. Will we miss graham? yes, but given the improvements elsewhere i can see this being a more than serviceable unit that, combined with the offense, can lead us to a successful season. I'm predicting 9-3 contingent on warren coming back.
OU's O-line lost four starters from last years team though, and currently ranks 71st in rush yards for the year, so I don't know how much you want to hold that up as an example.

NHL: Hartford Whalers moved in '97 after being notoriously mediocre, I've adopted the caps since I started college in DC so there's some hope.

NCAAB: Michigan basketball in '89 (I was 1) and UCONN in '99 and '04

Seconded, I live in Crystal City but still head into DC to catch the games at Buffalo Billiards most weekends.
Rhino's one floor Penn State and the other OSU, so tread carefully there.
