We're apparently not allowed to discuss our team's weaknesses after a win without being harrassed and negged to death? Wow, that's really immature. Just because someone is uncomfortable with the play of a particular player doesn't mean they're not enjoying the win. The fact that some thought that was the case is just laughable. No matter how good we play, coaches, Rich Rod included, immediately focus on things we can improve on. Are you all implying you know better than the head coach? I thought Dutch looked very good for the Ravens and thought at worst he'd be on a practice squad. He's still unsigned, but if he doesn't get picked up he'll probably try the UFL again.
Jamar Adams hasn't been picked up yet, but I'm thinking someone will sign him to their 53 by the time the season starts, even though he still has practice squad eligibilty.
Ortmann and Moosman probably have the worst chance of sticking anywhere, although the Rams tried out Moos on Sunday, but no word on if they'll sign him.
He made some nice tackles, and a really nice hit to break up a pass. I was keeping an eye on him, and outside of one play where his man was open but dropped the ball, he was playing very good man-to-man coverage. He actually looked better, man-to-man at least, then Floyd.
However when Cullen came into the game late, he missed like 3 easy tackles. Horrible form on his part, he needs to pick that up. It looked like he'd never tackled anyone in his life, what with the horrible angles he took.

I now have Comcast this year, and while I still get all the sports channels that I did in the past, I haven't noticed any alternate channels for the BTN like I have with DirecTV. So. my question is, if anyone knows, will I get all the Michigan games televised in my area this season?
I know the depth chart is unoffical, but a couple of things that intrigue me are:
1. I know Roy Roundtree was supposed to get some time on the outside, but his best position, IMO, is at slot. I'd rather have Darryl Stonum and Juior Hemingway on the outside with Roundtree and Martavious Odoms on the inside. I'm not sure if Roundtree would be a good fit at outside receiver all season long.
2. Kelvin Grady is not listed at all. Could this be because he's in the midst of a postion switch? If not, I'd figure he'd be listed as 3rd string slot, since Jeremy Gallon is apparently not in proper shape.
3. At the starting corner opposite J.T. Floyd, James Rogers, Cullen Christian, and Terrence Talbott are all listed as "or," indicating any of them could be the starter. I would not be surprised if Rogers or Christian locks down one of the starting CB spots, but from everything I've heard, Courtney Avery is definitely ahead of Talbott, yet he is not listed as an "or," just strictly as a backup. Also, where's Teric Jones? I figured he'd be ahead of Talbott, who was said to be a speacial teams player at best at this point.
But I was referring to the '08 season when other then Trent and Warren, we had corner/safety hybrid's like Charles Stewart and Brandon Harrison covering the slot. They were solid, epseically Harrison, who I feel was better suited at S, but who knows what Dutch could of done. It couldn't of hurt to toss him out there and see what he could do in one of the many losses we had that season. Either way, it's nice to see a true Michigan man like Dutch getting his shot at the NFL, even if he couldn't quite cut it at Michigan.
I'm not hating on Savoy or his career at Michigan, just that one play. Whether it was tipped or not is besides the point, it was still a catchable ball, and in that situation you have to make that play. Thankfully Mathews made up for it later.

A player that size at kicker is one thing, but how about a 5'7" 248 lbs. DT? I saw Dominque Ware practicing with the D-Line on the BTN's Michigan practice thing the other day, and it was comical seeing him next to guys like Martin and Campbell.
I always felt that both Doug Dutch and James Rogers have gotten a raw deal.
Dutch was hampered by injuries and then switched positions, and for some reason never got any PT in the secondary, when it's clear he had the talent to do so. I remember after last year's draft that I saw Dutch was signed as an UFA by Washington and I was pretty surprised to see that he was getting a shot at the NFL. I never thought he'd make it past training camp, but he had a good enough preseason to earn a spot on the Redskins practice squad later on in the season, and was then traded to the Ravens for John Beck, a former 2nd round pick QB. I've watched Dutch this preseason for the Ravens, and I was shocked at how well he was covering his man. He made several solid tackles, even one TFL, and had several broken up passes while not interfering with the receiver. I can't believe this kid couldn't get on the field for us, because he's clearly holding his own agaisnt legit NFL talent, and is looking like a practice squad player at worst for the Ravens. If he keeps up his solid play, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him make the Ravens 53-man roster.
James Rogers is similar in the fact that he had several positions switches, first being recruited as an athlete who was most likely going to be a RB or S, to bouncing back and forth from WR to CB. In the limited action we've seen of Rogers at WR, he made some tough catches for quite a few yards, and I certaintly think he would of been a better option at WR compared to someone like LaTerryal Savoy, who dropped a gimme go ahead TD versus Notre Dame. I was pretty high on Rogers when he committed, and I felt he would be the steal of the class. He's my favorite to win the other CB job opposite Floyd, seeing as he has good size, experince, and he'll probably be hungry in his last chance to make something of his career at Michigan. His only competion are 2 true freshman (Cullen Christian and Courtney Avery) and a fellow position switchee. (Teric Jones) At the very least he'll probably see time in the Nickel.
