The Big House selling out during putrid Rich Rod seasons shows that the value is driven by Michigan, not the players they field.
Maybe the Big House was selling out during the RR era because of Denard. There was empty seats during the Hoke era because we played boring football and there was no Denard on the team.
I'm not sure this will sellout like the previous game. Chelsea doesn't even come close to having as many fans as Man United and Real Madrid already played here. They should have gone with Barcelona vs Liverpool.
That's why the CCHA tourney was the best of both worlds. First round and quarterfinals were a best of three on campus sites with the semifinals and championship game at the Joe. I just don't understand why we needed to create a Big Ten hockey conference. Penn State could have joined the CCHA or Hockey East. There was no need to destroy tradition to create something to benefit a new team. It would have made sense if there was 3 or 4 more B1G teams coming on board, but I just don't see that happening any time soon.
But the tournament just doesn't excite anybody, especially at the prices involved.
$50 for college hockey is ridiculous (not to mention paying for parking, food and drinks). I probably wouldn't pay that much to see Michigan play in the NCAA tourney.
According to a person familiar with the team's plans, Rutgers coach Kyle Flood rescinded an offer for Partridge to join the staff in a recruiting capacity. The person, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the negotiation, said Rutgers had major concerns with how Partridge was handling the process after news broke Sunday that he was joining the Scarlet Knights' staff. The person said of equal concern was the negative effect Partridge's hiring might've had on Rutgers' ability to recruit from other top New Jersey high school programs.
Illinois doesn't have a team so Chicago makes zero sense. We saw how much they cared about college hockey when we played those outdoor games at Soldier Field.
Detroit is building a new arena and Olympia has already stated they want to host the B1G tourney on a regular basis. We have two teams right next to Detroit and OSU and PSU are also closer. That's 4-2 in our favor and I hope the ADs are not stupid enough to allow Minnesota to steal this tourney.
BTW, the arena is going up fast. They already started working on the roofing structure.
We really needed this. In year three of this conference this was our first trophy. Should have won the regular season title as well, but we got screwed by B1G officiating.
People who think Michigan had a great chance to beat SFAustin, probably never watched them play this year. Walkup would have had a field day against our D.
Michigan is playing with house money at this point. Sparty was supposed to win the national title. Hell, Valentine guaranteed a national championship lol

July is just not the same without a new NCAA Football game.

What's the cost of funding a fencing team? It seems like the easiest sport to add.
I don't care about ND, but fuck B1G hockey. Bring back the CCHA!
52-25 tourney record.
I'm surprised at how fast all the hockey jerseys sold out. I was waiting for them to drop the price and now they are all gone.

They should convince Wagner to try fried sago grubs.

Crystal Ball predictions (only 2) were 100% for OSU.

Thanks to Rutgers for not hiring Chris Partridge.

Brian is still here. He was tweeting things during the hockey and basketball games yesterday.

I hope it's OSU. I want revenge against those bastards.
These announcers have been awful.
