That last GIF!!!  Can't…

That last GIF!!!  Can't unsee that stupidity LOL

I can't believe Jumbo Elliot…

I can't believe Jumbo Elliot only weighed 283.  I was in elementary school at the time and remember thinking he was so huge!

Just curious-why couldn't…

Just curious-why couldn't this be done as a normal play?  At any point on the field?  Not just for a 2 point conversion.  too risky?

Thank you Ace for everything…

Thank you Ace for everything.  We owe you a debt of gratitude.

What about the hair?

Only mod excitement?  What about that intimidating head of hair?  We need a hair award.

Go Rats!

Went to Huron back in the early 90's.  Great school.  Lots of opportunity.  Got into every school I applied.  Ann Arbor Public Schools is a great system period (regardless of high school).  I took classes at the University of Michigan as a Jr and Sr in high school.  Wonderful experience.   The key is the peers you have in high school.  Find the right group.  You won't go wrong with either school.  But Huron is better!!!

welcome back!

Long time reader but infrequent poster, I have to say I enjoy all the banter and discussion you provoke!  Lots of fun.  Usually insightful.  Almost always entertaining.

As a Michigan lifer, I LOVE seeing other enthusiastic Michigan fans.  You are certainly one of the most enthusiastic!

GO BLUE!!!

(take care of yourself too! says "someone" who is in the hospital at the moment because I wasn't taking care of myself)-thank goodness I can hop on the internet here!

I love the picture of him

I love the picture of him going "huh?" used in every article about him.

I remember biking on North

I remember biking on North University at I was moving pretty fast (15-20 mph) and a student stepped right in front of my bike and he went flying, (so did I).  I was wearing a helmet, he was not.  He was dazed.  He didn't even look before he stepped off.

If these buses have sensors to sense stupidity among pedestrians (like student who are too close to the curb or about to step off), I can't imagine these buses are going to be able to move.

Ahh, campus.  Good times.

JAMA review article

Can't say I read all the posts on this thread but if someone wants to read a fairly recent review article on medical marijuana published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), it is free for reading and downloading.

http://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2338251

The punch line is that no one knows for sure if it is effective for depression because there is not adequate formal research to say one way or the other (and I think there will never be).  It will be hard to get a research study approved that randomizes people to marijuana until it is legal.

I would also look at this book https://www.amazon.com/Stoned-Doctors-Case-Medical-Marijuana/dp/1591847….  This is written by a friend of mine who is an amazing physician, very academic, journal editor but he comes at this from a hospice perspective.  He is a marijuna advocate.

https://www.ted.com/talks/david_casarett_a_doctor_s_case_for_medical_ma… for a summary

From the JAMA article

Depression
No studies evaluating cannabinoids for the treatment of depression fulfilled inclusion criteria. Five studies included for other indications reported depression as an outcome measure; 4 evaluated chronic pain and 1 evaluated spasticity in MS patients.67,73,75,80,129 One trial assessed dronabinol (2 doses), 3 assessed nabiximols, and 1 assessed nabilone. Two studies were rated as having unclear risk of bias and 3 as having high risk of bias. Three studies suggested no difference between cannabinoids (dronabinol and nabiximols) and placebo in depression outcomes. One parallel-group trial that compared different doses of nabiximolswith placebo reported a negative effect of nabiximols for the highest dose (11-14 sprays per day) compared with placebo (mean difference frombaseline, 2.50 [95% CI, 0.38 to 4.62]) but no difference between placebo and the 2 lower doses.
What a riot

I love this site!  My wife asks me sometimes why I'm laughing so hard when I'm on the web and I'm on mgoblog.  I really do laugh out loud!  As a father of 3 and a doc who has delivered babies, there's really great and hilarious advice on this thread!  Oh man, I'm at working laughing at the nurses station!

car vs person

So if I am reading this right, if you beat up a car for more than $1500, it is a felony and you get suspended a whole season but if you beat up a person (like the ole miss recruit), it is a misdeamenor and you get suspended a game?

Weird.

Country Clubs

You could try Travis Point country club or Barton Hill's Country club (my sister got married there).

Professional Holders

I found this amusing quote from a BYU receiver..

"They were good, and what I think is that they were professional holders," Pearson said. "They got their hands good on us, and held on to us well, and it was hard for us."

I attribute that as well to having NFL DB coaches.

Thanks

Appreciate you both!

bracketmatrix website

Can anyone tell me what the bolded teams on the bracket matrix signifies?  I know some teams qualify automatically due to conference championships but Wisconsin is bolded and not michigan.  Thanks!
