It's probably because of Rodriguez. Haters everywhere.

What next? Michigan getting kicked out of the Union? Will Canada take it?

Really!

How DARE anyone come on this board and state an opinion that is not 100% regurgitated stuff put out by the staff of MGoBlog, the cool posterz with the most pointz, or The Mighty Godriguez!

Heresy, I say!

Can We

Really trust this staff's ability to evaluate talent?

Love This Quote

"I don't think Michigan's run defense is going to suffer greatly without him."

Yet, he is apparently the best we have to offer right now--and the question of shoddy coaching will remain after he's gone and a replacement is inserted.

Saying Michigan's run defense won't suffer without Mouton is like saying the Titanic wouldn't have sunk as fast if the passenger in room 48 would have turned his shower off before heading for the lifeboats.

A Disaster?

Why would removing Rodriguez be a disaster--or certainly any more of a disaster than his tenure here so far?

Is it because he'd be leaving behind a roster full of guys we stole from Bowling Green and Wyoming? Is it because he has this super-powered "spread offense" in place that looks great against the likes of UMAss and Indiana, but can be controlled by the better teams in the big ten?

Would the next guy ruin UM's bowl streak--oh wait. Nevermind.

OK. Maybe Rodriguez should get a five year extension, because all he needs is "time." And by the way, some of the players UM fans have tossed under the bus have had the same amount, or much less, time to prove themselves as Rodriguez. Yet again, RR gets the free pass because it's all their fault, I guess.

$3 Mill per year, shit the bed, and have an army of apologists who are probably emailing the boss en masse to keep you on. WHAT A COUNTRY!

Ha Ha

Got nothin, pull out the ol' "sparty troll" bit and cap it off with the prehistoric pizza delivery line.

Don't you have to start generating the "wait til 2013" posts instead of arguing with a "sparty"?

Predictions and Shit Going Down

But I thought, nay, I was TOLD--Rich Rodriguez wins with less and coaches them up and has Mike Barwis at his side and that we will be a machine.

Turns out he needs a lot of talent, just like everyone elts, eh?

Why should Rodriguez merit all this patience from Michigan Fans?

Were Michigan fans patient with Threet? Sheridan? Obi Ezeh? Will Campbell? Tate Forcier? Scott Shafer?

Why don't those guys all get half a decade to prove how good they might be?

Why is is That

All of our errors are "unforced?"

Now, of course I know Michigan rolled up over 500 yards against Iowa. However, at one point we were down 35-14, and just about wheneve they needed a big play (or a conversion on 3rd down and 75)--they got it. Oh, and they didn't turn the ball over. Not even in an "unforced" way.

So, whip out the "yardage" dick measuring contest if that puts you to sleep at night. They handled UM pretty easily and won by ten. In Ann Arbor.

We're left with nothing but tantalizingly deceitful straws to try and grasp.

Ummmm

That's ridiculous.

UNLESS...MSU IS better than Michigan. iowa IS bette than Michigan. Massachusetts IS only five points worse than Michigan. Indiana IS only two last-minute drives from being better than Michigan the last two years. Michigan IS just slightly better than Notre Dame, who was just shellacked by Navy...

Oh, you guys are so much fun. Riddled with hypocrisy and self righteous indignation--and stuck with Rich Rodriguez.

Explain

The failure in my logic. Also, explain how Ohio State isn't a better team than Wisconsin. Explain how Pryor fails when he says OSU would beat Wisconsin 9 of 10.

Explain how being dominated by MSU for 60 minutes and Iowa for 55 or so minutes means we "beat ourselves."

Explain why Rodriguez apparently now needs until 2012 to contend on the national stage.

Sorry, I'm not that patient with Rodriguez. He has stunk it up at Michigan so far and I don't believe it's going to get turned around.

But I DO predict a 7-5 finish, being thrashed by Illinois, Wisconsin and OSU, but making a shit bowl game and the RR cheerleading squads here and at Scout being appeased.

Brandon? Not so much.

Ah. I see.

Nice qualifier. Nice rationalizing. So then, we're no better than Pryor, amiright?

Is This Like

Still calling Michigan State "Little Brother"? Or saying that "We beat ourselves" in the MSU and Iowa games?

How's Come

Everyone wants to trash the players all the time and yet give Rodriguez four, five, six, or umpteen years to get this "bright" future going?

If Vinnopal stinks it up--is everyone going to turn on him also? I mean, because NOTHING is ever Poor Lil Richie Rod's fault, is it?

And yes. Right now, I'm a H8ter!

Stonum's Fault?

This is the problem with this and all the Michigan boards right now. On one hand, people want to give Rodriguez a free pass because of Threet/Sheridan, then "having" to start freshmen and sophomores the next two seasons.

In the next breath, these RR pom pom wavers want to blame Stonum for being a bust--he's had the same shit to work with that poor lil Richie Rod has had to work with, hasn't he?

Stonum ought to get the #1 jersey for staying with this team. If he was at Arkansas or Alabama, he'd be an All American. Instead he's stuck in an offense watching quarterbacks run themselves into the ground and then throw nothing but five yard dinks and dunks.

Wow

Yet another guy in the media that is dumber than Michigan message board guys? Who knew!

The #1's From the Past

Had these guys on their teams called "quarterbacks" who could throw passes downfield to them.

Why

Do people keep raving about Barwis ("we have the conditioning") when we are constantly and consistently being pushed around and tossed aside like rag dolls?

And that EPIC furth quarter "We will bury teams with our superior S&C God"?  Really--not so much at all.

WTF

Michigan possibly finishing in second place in the Big Ten?

The only thing that matters to me about MSU is that they completely OWN Michigan right now. I couldn't care less if they go undefeated, or play (and win) the BCS title game at this point.

They are bitch slapping Michigan--anything else they do is gravy for them.

I Beg to Differ

If Rodriguez is canned, who, exactly, WOULD UM's players transfer to? Especially the defensive players. Are there some MAC teams that need these guys?

All we've been hearing for three years now is how bad the talent is at UM--yet so many chicken littles seemingly expect half the roster to follow Rodriguez out the door. I don't get it.

I'm quite sure this roster would stay intact if Rodriguez gets fired. Most of Rodriguez's recruits either love Michigan or had about ZERO offers from big time programs.

And alot of these guys would be entering their third and fourth years at Michigan. Hardly transfer material, especially when they'd have to sit out a year.

This is Ignorance Incarnate

He "couldn't make it work"?

His defense gave up six points to Toledo. Held UM in the game against Utah. Six points to Miami of Ohio. Held Wisconsin at bay after about 34 turnovers in the first half of that game. Held Minnesota to six points.

And, oh yeah: The worst offense ever was playing the other side of the ball to back him up. You know, like a record for three and outs? Turnovers up the tookus?

But yeah, Shafer "couldn't make it work"  LOL

Should have kept him and shit canned Rodriguez.

Sorry

I hear a bunch of guys trying to convince the world that Rodriguez is The Answer, or has it going.

He does not.

I also wonder why people keep saying "ZOMG we have improved! Why cant the rest of the world see it!"

Well, because we haven't. You guys can trump up the "one or two plays away" meme all you want, but this team is very far away from being a bIg Ten contender.

Brandon sees nothing in Rodriguez that should lead him to believe this thing will be turned around by 2012. In fact, Brandon just might be one of those guys who beleives the world will end before the Alabama game.

The defense is not going to improve. There is no hope for it next year (the same guys will be back)--and recruiting is not going well.

keep it up, though--this stuff is interesting to read.

Michigan has been bounced by the first two good teams it played this year. You all will be placated by probably victories over a horrid PSU and very, very mediocre Purdue and Illinois.

But the sane fan will watch what happens against Wisconsin and OSU--but not be fooled if OSU only beats us by two toughdowns because Tressel is, well, Tressel and will be happy to beat UM by just enough.

The OSU game will be like the fight between a short guy and a tall guy where the tall guy puts his hand on the short guys head and lets the short guy wing wildly away--and then coldcocks him with one punch. The short guy will think he didn't get his ass kicked by that much, but everyone will know tha tall guy just felt sorry for him.
