I will never forget the guy that berated Shegos during the refs warmup skate: "SHEGOS IS THE DEVIL! PRINCE OF DARKNESS!! 666!!" The whole building could hear him. Hilarious.
My dad watched Red play when he was a student at Michigan. Said that Red could do whatever he wanted on the ice due to his superior skill and physical ability. As intimidating as Red looks he's a really nice guy and great to have a chat with.
Red gave the better part of his adult life to the hockey program and university. For that, I will always be greatful.
It was my first time seeing the club this year and it was a fantastic game. Maryland is a quality team that carried the play for large stretches of each half and the overtime.
What stood out to me was the teams resilience and persistence. They just kept hanging in there and playing hard, waiting for their opportunity. The goal was the result of a quick conter-attack down the left side and a cross. Nothing special, just great hustle on the back side of the play.
Wonderful treat for many of us in the DC area that rarely get to see our teams live. Helluva game.
