I watched a 20 minute session with Jerry Hanlon after the game before OSU. While not coming out and criticizing the OL coaching, he pointed out the deficiencies in our offensive line which centered around not being "low enough" and poor blocking angles. Hanlon was a great OL coach under Bo and I think that his comments mean that our OL is not getting the basic coaching that they deserve. Dr. Steve

There are a lot more important games coming up this season. I would not gamble on the ankle for tonight's game. Give it plenty of time to heal and go into the Big 10 season with it healthy. The worst is to keep hurting it and then it really doesn't heal for the rest of the season.
Basketball allows us to " learn from our mistakes" and put more younger guys into the line-up before Big Ten begins.

This season ranks with the best of them. Dr. Steve

My son told me that when Borges was at Cal. after his first year the defensive coaches of the opposing teams said that based on the offensive formation before the snap, they basically knew exactly what play was called. He also told me that Borges best year would be his first and then it would be all downhill. Dr. Steve

Meyer signed his contract on Nov.1. For the next 60 days he was on the recruiting trail. He had no responsibility for the then, current team. Every coach in the country was busy coaching and Meyer had a 2 month "free reign" on the recruiting trail. This was the NCAA pat on the back for a school whose coach was implicated in the violation. Contrast that with USC who was kept in limbo for years and when they were penalized it was very severe even though no one in the University including the football coaches etc. were ever implicated. I do believe that OSU has some type of inside support at the NCAA. Dr Steve (PS I am not a USC fan).

Most people do not know what a great person Juwan is. He was raised by his grandmother and she made him promise to stay in school and graduate with his class. Unfortunately she died during his freshman year. Juwan stayed in school through his Junior year, but during the next year (his rookie NBA year) he took enough classes and credits to graduate with his class. I think that this has never been done, before or afterwards by anyone in any college sport.
In addition, when Juwan had spare time he spent it with the kids at the Children's Hospital in AA.
He is someone that we can all be proud of.

I attended U of M from 1956-1963 (under grad and Medical School). We had one disappointing 1956 season (2 losses when picked early for undefeated season) and then 6 years of terrible teams and terrible losses including 3 horrendous end of season losses to that team up north. Fast forward to 1969 I was living in San Antonio, Texas fulfilling my duty to the USAF. My father-in-law was visiting from Chicago and on that fateful Saturday he asked me if I wanted to play golf or watch the Michigan-Ohio State fb game. I told him of my past experiences and said golf. I can still remember as if it happened yesterday, walking off the last green at Kelly AFB, a radio blaring that Michigan had beaten OSU 24-14. I was in heaven and have been ever since watching and living Michigan football from afar.

|5 years 49 weeks ago||Kicking into the end zone||
It seems to me that in the first few games we were getting some kicks into the end zone. Now they barely make it to the 20 yard line. What is different? Dr. Steve

Because the post that I asked as a question prior to the Penn State game was so vilified that I wasn't allowed to post again. What I asked was answered a few days later in much more confrontational way. Bye Bye. Dr. Steve

What a great story. We are sending our first grand daughter to Michigan in the fall. She will love reading the story. She represents the third generation in our family to go to AA. My wife and I met at Michigan, our first daughter (her mother ) was born at the UM Hospital. She went to undergraduate school at Michigan, met a boy and they married. We also live in LA. I spent 7 years at MIchigan, undergad and Medical School. We all have such fond memories of our time spent there. I can't think of a better place for a young person to grow up. We are going back for homecoming in October, our first trip back in 24 years.. Dr. Steve
