I was sitting right behind the the MSU band during the game. They thought they would annoy him with vagner, then tried Wagner. He made shots on Wagner, so went back to vagner and added victor in front of it.
Once I was accepted, one visit to A2 sold me. Being from Connecticut,I only knew college basketball. Then football was only the NFL. Boy,that has changed. Michigan is special and became very clear very quickly.

Going to the game with my wife (also alum) and daughter (she hopes future alum). My son is a freshman at Rutgers, so makes things more interesting.
Given how the season is going and all the turmoil, almost wish I wasn't. Rutgers decided our game is the top game, earning the top price for any game this year. Got good tickets, so too expensive too not use.
It is funny the UT fans think they only lost because of the refs. I, and most of us, think we won despite the refs. The controversial call probably does not happen if they properly review the out of bounds call. Very few on the UT board mention that travesity . . .
Barring a major change, not many schools are available. The ACC took a poison pill so that any teams that leave do not have their media rights. Not sure if the Big 12 did the same.
Given that, who is available to be the 15th & 16th teams we would add? With a reduced list of possibilities, I think UConn fits better than most. Realistically, the B1G will only grow, not shrink.
Also, UConn is pursuing AAU membership I believe and is building a new biomedical research faculty that should help up the $ count.
While many complain about having to come out here and play in a small stadium, this was great for the faithful out east. With a family, expensive and difficult to get back to AA for a game. This visit let me take my kids to their first Michigan game. My 11 year old daughter calls herself a future alum, so was an incredible experience for her. What is the harm of a small stadium? Not as big a payday? As fans, what does that get us anyway, not going to lower ticket prices or concessions because of that. Looks bad, beneath us? We are Michigan, wherever we play we are the red letter game for the opponent. Not good for strength of schedule? Given the result, will not even address that.
Frankly, Michigan fans from across the northeast showed how Michigan can make it's presence felt. At the tailgate, felt like A2 with such a heavy Michigan presence. Sitting in the Michigan corner, was fun and no problems with UConn fans. Living in CT I am a UConn fan, but a distant second to being a UM alum. To me an awesome experience. To me, only bad part was that this will be a one time experience. Was looking forward to this for 4 years! Maybe I will get to a game in A2 again sooner, but this was special to me and my family.
I also live in CT and went to the UConn game this weekend. While not well organized (stadium built on old airplane runway), there should be parking for $15 at the stadium. No good landmarks, so pay close attention to where park.
The UM Spirit Club of Hartford will be having a tailgate in a parking lot nearby, but not at the stadium. The info is on the Alumni Association site. Also, for those coming in Friday, the club is having a pregame Friday night at Wood n Tap in Hartford.
On places to go I second the recommendations. Union Street in Hartford is essentially the bar district in Hartford, and good restaurants nearby. West Hartford Center has some of the best restaurants in the area; usually win the best of awards. To me, not worth trip to New Haven.
Look forward to ask the maize and blue coming. Hope to see a lot in the stadium. I don't care it is a late game; my kids can sleep in the next day. This will be their first Michigan game. Easier to get to game in CT where I live instead of A2. I have to get them there someday, but this will do for now.
Living in CT I do root for UConn EXCEPT when they play Michigan. I bought UConn season tickets to make sure I am at the game. Went to the UConn game last night; the are poorly coached and don't have a ton of talent. It looks like others took the same approach as me since I saw at least 10 others wearing Michigan gear like me. We were told we are a week early . . . Given how poorly UConn is playing, I expect a lot of locals to take the $$ from our fans than goto the game. I have 2 UConn grads on my team at work. I asked them if they wanted tickets. They said no, why pay to watch UConn get crushed. I think we get over 1/3 of the stadium.
Also, the UM Spirit Club of Hartford is also planning a tailgate. The info should be up on the Alumni Association page. Hope to see a bunch of Maize and Blue next week!
I also attended that game. I had just graduated from UM in May and was attending BC for Law School, so nice transition to go to one more UM football game to start the school year.
I am happy to have the team coming to CT next year, so would be great for more opportunities to catch a relatively local game with BC later!!
I graduated from UM and went straight into a JD/MBA program at BC (back 20 years ago). My advice comes from that experience. Going to school with law and business students at the same time provided an interesting perspective. I was in business school with many people who wanted to attend law school, decided to be a paralegal first, then saw they did not like working in law. They saved themselves the headache and money of attending law school by getting real exposure first.
On the other hand, I was on a law review at the law school during my3rd and 4th year while interviewing with law firms. A couple people I knew on the journal were asking why I was interviewing with law firms. They were miserable in law school and questioning why become a lawyer. They were envious that I had options (i.e. my MBA).
I did end up taking an IT job, left that for law, then went back to IT for the last 16 years. I do not regret getting my law degree, but a bit of a luxury at the cost.
If you can defer, take some time, be a paralegal, see what the real world of practicing law is like and see if that is really what you want to do. If it is, you probably were a good paralegal and will have a good "in" to get hired later . . .

My approach was to say:
1) Despite the score I feel we are the better team.
2) They got significant help from refs. If called even we win by 10.
3) I really hope to get them in playoffs because they will not escape again.
I am not taking crap . . . We lost the game more than they (and the refs) won it.
It was funny that the OSU guy asked me if I am still happy with Harbaugh? He thinks we are now mad at him. I attribute that to wishful thinking.

One correction, Rutgers gets you nothing in New England.
I would support it, but I am biased since I live in CT. UConn needs out of the AAC.
Another thought . . . UConn would probably be in the upper half of the B1G academically.
