From ESPN "Alex Oriakhi will spend his senior season with a team that has a chance to play in the NCAA tournament. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound Oriakhi will transfer from Connecticut, his father, Alex Sr., told the Hearst Connecticut Media Group."
And send one of our MGoBlog representative over to your favorite Alabama blog. I volunteer either Aqua or the "kind-version" of Magnus. It would be great to partner with other knowledgable football fans.
I really think Chris Fox has an excellent chance, at least on Rivals. He has a 6.0 ratings right now, which is comparable to Morris. I personally also think Logan Tuley-Tillman should be very close as his offer list is incredible. A lot will depend on how these guys do at the Big Man camps this Summer. It sure will be fun watching all of these commits over the next year!
This really just results in us being able to pull in another Top 20 guy this year with a high ceiling that is excited for the opportunity to play for Michigan. While Stokes is able to pursue his dream of the NFL at a school that will give him a shot. All win in this scenario.
I would like to also take this opportunity to thank you for the time and dedication that you have demonstrated to this site and to Michigan Wolverines recruiting news. I was a casual fan of the Wolverines, however never had followed recruiting until I found this site and you were the bait that kept me coming back. You are a class act and I wish you the best at ESPN, and am really happy for the extra pay/benefits I am sure you will enjoy. Could not have happened to a better guy!
It has been reported that Crete (IL) CB Anthony Standifer will be visiting Michigan tomorrow with his family. This is an old thread - so the date of the visit appears to be Wednesday, June1st. With Gant's decision today and the Morgan decision upcoming - this was very expected I would think.
I 100% agree with you on the Safety position. I think Jarrod Wilson - OH (#10 S) and Wayne Morgan - NY (#19 S) might be our best options, although these guys clearly are not Michigan leans. I fail to understand why we have such a hard time in Michigan producing top quality at the Safety position. I sure hope we coach the hell out of these guys in the Summer!
I know many of you might already be aware of this, however Kelly is a pretty big time recruit. This is a brief profile from 247 Sports:
Chad Kelly is a 6-3, 205-pound Dual-Threat Quarterback from Buffalo (New York) St. Joseph School. He is ranked No. 79 in the country by 247Sports. Kelly is the No. 3 recruit in New York and is the No. 2 Dual-Threat Quarterback in the nation. Kelly has a 247Sports rating of 95, making him a 4-star prospect.
It would appear U of M is higher than PSU in most rankings. Could you please explain how one school is ranked higher than another with such similar profiles so far?
I do believe that the poster above is legit and is Godin's brother, so I would tend to believe he is "in the know" as you say. Therefore I think it is safe to assume Godin will not be the commit. Also, Ringer has said he will announce later in April. Therefore, I believe it is safe to assume Braden is our Man!
I believe that is how many times Wisconsin lined up and ran the ball down our throat. I am pretty sure that just about everyone on the defense were shying away from contact. I will also say what everyone else is thinking - Vinopal may have tried to tackle the Wisconsin RBs, however I would rather have a guy in there that would actually be able to make the tackles.
While I have not posted much on this site, one thing I do know from reading much of the content, is that people do enjoy pulling each others proverbial chains here. I would just encourage you to reply with your own witty banter, and to also keep the information coming. I would be interested in your J. Johnson info as would others I am sure. Next time, just combine them if you are able and you can avoid those that enjoy rattling your cage.
I agree Cali on your idea of the Dream Team, however I would make it the Michigan/Ohio states and would add to the following "UM Dream Team" from our neighbors in Ohio:

Top 11 to Commit. Nicely done!

He also has an offer from Alabama. I think it is great to have this guy on campus this week!
Interesting how quickly he plans to make his decision, most of these 5-star guys like to enjoy all of the press for a while.

Glad to find out someone on the "inside" believes that we have the first recruit closing in on the commitment. Tom you bring joy to my St. Pattys Day!
