"He's a hard worker, and he watched me and Tim (Hardaway Jr.) and Nik (Stauksas) put work in to become (first-round picks), and I'm just happy he's getting better," Burke said. "It's great for the program, too. It shows what type of program the University of Michigan is and the direction it continues to go in."

"I just have belief in these kids. I believe in this staff and what they’ve done with these kids, and believe in Michigan.” You also can't ignore how much more often the players refer to Hoke, e.g. "Coach says..." There is a lot of mutual respect on this team.

it's that someone's reputation and record is not a guarantee they will be a good fit at Michigan.
Desire to be at Michigan and to win FOR Michigan is invaluable. While I'm not on the Hoke team (call me an Independent), I would prefer someone who wants to be at Michigan and fix the program than someone who wants DB's promised paycheck.

is to adopt the mindset of a "Michigan Man." It is an ideology and does not need to be literal. If the leaders and the best haven't coached or played at Michigan, so be it. Find the next leader, and make sure he has our values and respects our tradition.
