I'm sure I will only catch the first 7 innings, since about 10 minutes from every inning will be spent watching a meeting of the minds at the mound.

Actually, I've been trying to do the same thing - bounce between the Pistons and the WBC. As I find myself drinking more during the time when I watch the Pistons, maybe for my own sake I will stick with the WBC. I am enough beers in that I watched the Spanish broadcase (I speak French and German) for a minute or two before it struck me, which is basically why I give up on the Pistons tonight.

Commercials are a lot less irritating in Spanish. Also, these announcers get very excited.

I went to the WBC 8 years ago. I lived in Koreatown at the time and the game was South Korea vs Japan. We sat in the S. Korea section. Fun fact: the national Korean cheer is "Dae Han Minh Kook clap clapclap clap."

Nice win last night. Have an early flight this morning so I couldn't stay up to watch all. Saw Ian's HR and 0 hits by PR through half the game. We should win every tournament if our very best pitchers join the team.

and almost wish they did it a little more often, maybe every other year. Sure beats the boring exhibition games as these guys play to win this and it's the best players from every country.
