Remaining Schedule:

@ #2 Maryland

vs. Rutgers

@ #9 Northwestern

@ Detroit Mercy

They should be pretty close to a lock for the NCAA tournament?

At this point, it's a matter of whether they get home field advantage.

Currently they are #8 (the last team with home field advantage).

I would think they might have to beat Maryland or Northwestern once to get home field advantage since they would be 16-3 if they lose to both in the regular season and then in the B1G Tournament.

16-3 would not be enough for home field advantage because Michigan's best wins (and only ranked wins) would be #17 JHU and #19 Denver.

But as for making the tournament, Michigan is a lock as long as they get to 14 wins.

Another history-making game. Michigan's first-ever win over Johns Hopkins.

JHU went up 4-1 and eventually led 5-2.

Michigan started a run that would wind up being a 5-0 run that extended into the second half.

Caitlin Muir made it 5-3 JHU and then Molly Garrett scored with 1 second left on the shot clock to make it 5-4. The momentum was ours from there. Lilly Grass tied it at 5-5 with 1:30 before half and then Caitlin Muir scored her second goal with 14 seconds before halftime to give Michigan a 6-5 lead.

To start the 2nd half it was hat trick time for Caitlin Muir as she extended the Michigan lead to 7-5.

The 2nd half was back and forth with teams trading the next 5 goals. Maggie Kane scored two goals less than a minute apart to finally give the Wolverines some breathing room with an 11-8 lead.

JHU scored another goal to cut it to 11-9 but then Michigan went on another 5-0 run that included 3 straight goals from......you guessed it. Caitlin Muir. She finished with a double hat trick: SIX GOALS. JHU faceguarded our leading goal scorer Adriana Pendino all game and held her scoreless but Michigan showed why they're a top-10 team today as others stepped up.

Michigan had a 16-9 lead before JHU scored two goals in the final 3 minutes but could not muster anymore.

Michigan takes down #18 Johns Hopkins, 16-11!!

Michigan stays perfect, extending the nation's longest win streak to 14 which goes back to the end of 2018. The Wolverines have never lost as a ranked team in the program's 6 year history. Michigan has now defeated 7 straight ranked opponents going back to the famous buzzer beater goal at PSU last season.

Coach Hannah Nielsen ties the program record for career wins by a head coach with 20. She's 20-10 in less than 2 seasons. The other coach she's tied with won 20 games in 4 years.

Michigan is now 13-0 (3-0 B1G) and has a whale of a challenge up next.

It'll be a battle of undefeated B1G teams. #8 Michigan will travel to #2 Maryland next Saturday in a 5pm game on BTN. If Michigan can pull that one off, it would send shockwaves nationwide the likes of which have never been seen in women's lacrosse.

Agree this is an awesome and unexpected season, Go Blue!

As for shock waves never seen in women's lax, I'd say Northwestern being the first team from the Midwest to win a NC, then winning it five times in a row, might have been a bigger shock.
