IUPUI... sounds like a medical procedure.

Their School of Proctology is nationally rank.

Go, Blue!

IUPUI was the unanimous pick to win their conference.
M looked shaky at times, and just as they’d start to build a lead they’d go cold. They lost Amy Dilk in the first minute of the game. She grabbed a rebound and something went very wrong with her knee when she came down. Her leg was stabilized and she was brought into the locker room and did not return. I hope she’ll be ok, but it looked bad.

Yeah, I think that shook the team and took its toll on them mentally. Please be okay, Amy!

that's exactly what happened, and yes - it looked bad. crisler got as quiet as i've ever heard it, to the point where we could hear her yelling in pain as she laid on the floor...and our seats are near the top of the lower bowl all the way diagonnally across the court. it took a solid quarter and a half for the vibe to go away.

This is a very good team with one major flaw, just like last year, they can't shoot from three point range. they shot 3-20 tonight on threes and with Naz getting doubled and tripled teamed every time she touches the ball they should have a ton of good looks from deep.

Actually, Michigan Women's Basketball has another fatal flaw: too many turnovers.
IIRC, all of Kim Barnes Arico's Michigan teams have suffered from this problem. It's a recurring problem she simply hasn't been able to fix.

the turnover crap drives me crazy, and yes - i wish KBA would lose her shit more often at the lazy passes on the perimeter. i have to go back and watch the replay for my writeup, but there were at least a couple of plays in the last three minutes last night where one of our women just didn't come to the ball. without those late turnovers we're not going to overtime.
kim's teams have been up and down over the years, for what it's worth. the herhoopstats page shows consistently good rebounding and assist rates, but the turnovers stats are all over the place. not sure what that's about.

Still hit for 30

I'd like to see a top 4 finish in the league. If Dilk is out might have trouble finishing in top half. Will have to rely on athleticism.

I just don't see anyone being able to knock off Maryland.
Superior recruiting + superior coaching.
Brenda Frese has turned Big Ten Women's Basketball into Maryland's playground.

I feel like crap for Dilk. She missed all of last year's tourney run. Hope it's minor.

KBA updates from her drop on sam webb's show this morning:
- no specific update on amy dilk. said the team was very upset...this was very noticeable, fwiw.
- said leigha brown and ari wiggins have both been battling injuries (i'd wondered why brown only played 5 minutes and wiggins none in the exhibition)
- said the three shooters got hesitant (also noticeable)

I think it was a 4th Q timeout (definitely late in the game) where Brown could be seen in the background (not in the huddle) on a chair - looked like a trainer was working on her right leg while Leigha was trying to stretch her head to her left to hear the coaching points, with a grimacing on her face - at the time I wondered if that was related to her coming off the bench.
