When Does the Loeffler Bashing Commence?

Submitted by Jay on
So, if the rumor is true and Denard Robinson ends up committing to Florida, how long will it take for some in our fanbase to trash Scott Loeffler and accuse him of recruiting negatively against Rich Rod? This seems to be the standard behavior already on a couple of message boards.

For the record, none of us knows what's being said. The fact that Lefty is being bashed already and blamed for Robinson possibly choosing Florida over UM is beyond ridiculous. That's kind of what my post was getting at. People seem to think that any time another coach points out something negative about another school, its coaching staff, or, that particular coaching staff's scheme, that it is somehow "dirty pool." I find that to be complete bullshit.

At 1:13 AM today you asked "So when does the Loeffler bashing commence?" All of fifteen minutes later, you lamented, "The fact that Lefty is being bashed already and blamed for Robinson possibly choosing Florida over UM is beyond ridiculous." Did you really observe a lot of Loeffler bashing between 1:13 and 1:28 this morning?

I agree completely. Unfortunately, some people seem to believe that Lefty should openly campaign for the kid to go to Michigan. Oh, and thanks for the clarification on how his name is spelled. I've never seen the name "Scott" spelled with only one "t."

I mean I could see a problem if he spouting shit off about family values, RichRod banging every female in the world he cared about, etc. All he really has to say is I helped put John Navarre, Chad Henne, Tom Brady and Brian Griese (as a GA) into the NFL. Look at what they did in college, I can get you drafted. If he makes comments about RR's ability to put a QB into the draft, I have no problem with it either. If he tells a recruit that a spread option isn't conducive to putting you into the draft (look at RR's most recent QBs) and points out that he was brought in to help a spread option QB who has become on of the most heralded players in CFB history become a better pro prospect, well shit, he's not lying.

Perhaps Newsome, Beaver and Robinson can't read charts, let a lone a college football team depth chart? How about this: Florida Quarterbacks 2009: QB Tim Tebow 1st string John Brantley 2st string Cameron Newton 3rd string Jordan Reed (2009 freshman QB ) Marsalis Teague (2009 freshman CB/QB) like Robinson, 4-star Trey Burton (2010 freshman QB) Michigan Quarterbacks 2009: QB Steven Threet 1st string Tate Forcier 2nd string Walk on, not rated David Cone, 3 star Justin Feagin, 2 star Nobody A talented freshman who wants to play QB and looking for early playing time just doesn't pick Florida given the above info. I don't care if Sarkisian, Loeffler or freaking Joe Montana is the QBs coach.
