Go Blue! Beat little sister.
For those who don't know, Michigan and MSU split their two regular-season games. Michigan hasn't beaten the Spartans twice in the same season since 1999-2000. The 1999-2000 team also holds the team record for wins in a season—22. With a win tonight, the women's team can match that record.
Go Blue!
I would venture that U-M is a lock for the NCAA tournament with a win tonight.
Michigan was already a lock before the Big Ten tournament even started. As I've said before, what happens in Chicago will affect only their NCAA seed. Various projections have them as an 8 or 9 seed now. If they beat MSU, maybe they move up to a 7 and avoid potentially having to face a #1 seed in round two.
I think if the women make the Sweet Sixteen, that is worthy of a banner in Crisler don't ya think?
I would say definitely. That would be Michigan's best season ever. Two more wins and Michigan has their best record ever. Well, most wins that is.
The criteria for banners should be—and probably are—the same for the men's and women's teams.
Ohio State just eliminated. Michigan would play number 1 seed PSU if Michigan wins.
Go Blue!
...triple penetration.
I know it's sexist and probably juvenile, but I still laughed out loud at a woman from EL uttering that phrase.
Getting our butt kicked
Shame. At least the seniors got that win against them at Crisler. BTT is just a gimmick for teams who need it to get in.
They're in the NCAAs most likely so that's good.
Just a few posts up, you said we need this win "bad." Now it's "just a gimmick?"
Is this the new "No Spin Zone?"
They needed the win in the sense of turning the tide of the rivalry.
The tournament has always been a gimmick. Even in men's basketball. I personally think it's a big waste of time unless you are a team on the bubble.
