Way OT - Online Music Service question

Submitted by trueblue262 on

I have enjoyed for several years, an account with Rhapsody. For how my family and I listen to music, it really has fit us well. Until recently anyway... They merged with Napster, and now it seems to not work as well, AND my monthly fee increased.

So I am looking for some Mgocommunity advice on any other services out there that might be comparable to the old rhapsody. And, if I quit Rhapsody, is there any way of getting my saved music? Would appreciate any advice on  the matter.

Wow not one person so far to say pandora one.  Its only $5 a month.  I"m not sure how many accounts I can use at once but I've never had an issue with myself and my GF.  I guess the draw back is limited selection and can't download idk?

I've asked on other sites, but is there any way to migrate playlists from Rhapsody to Spotify? I haven't found anything that works yet, and it's a pain to do manually (I had Rhapsody and used it a lot for 4-5 years).

If you don't mind a few ads and are into EDM, I love Digitally Imported.  They offer an ad-free service as well for a monthly fee of about $9, but I can't bring myself to incur yet another monthly fee.  I might buy in later, though, because DI is really great.  Another relatively free experience is Radio Paradise.  It isn't streaming music like the other examples mentioned here, but more like an online radio station.  The playlist is DJ curated.  They play a real eclectic mix of styles and old and new stuff.  Great way to hear an old gem and then a new song from an obscure indie band you never heard of.

Rhapsody???

Lol do you still use hotmail and aol instant messenger and Real Player too?? :P

Seriously though Spotify is the best.

I no longer use torrents Bc it's way easier to give Spotify my $10 (now $15, my wife and I use the family plan) and have everything instantly.

Spotify is the best out there, plain and simple.

I have Pandora for free. I get that Spotify is better but does Spotify offer a free application? I can live with the ads if necessary.

I use Pandora for free radio and also Youtube Freemake Downloader, which lets you copy a URL of a Youtube video and convert that into an MP3.
