Volleyball's Rood needs the mgoblog bump
That is one hell of a hit thrown down by Michigan's Veronica Rood. I watched the game live, and all 200 or so people at NU's arena gasped in horror. That point was an exclamation to NU that "you might have won the first set, but this match belongs to Michigan."
The play is even up for the AVCA hit of the week. That said, @michigan_vball and I are asking for your help.
Vote for play #2.
I'm hoping to get an informative update out on volleyball out tonight, but in case I don't, Rood (as video'd above) is doing the CiL tomorrow at noon.

That is sick.
As an aside, I love it when kills hit people in the face. Always good for a laugh.

As am I. Luckily, none of that in the competition. Just Iowa State upsetting Texas and a couple of TCU plays that show excellent defense and passing, but nothing that makes me go "oh shit."
On the same note, Lexi caught one of those this weekend, which turned into a pretty decent pass. With the condition that her thumb is in (still in a support brace since the sprain), I'll take passes off other body parts as long as they work.

She needs a "bump" like a volleyball bump?
FA, I love the pun.
I've actually seen a fair amount of would-be kills bounce off of someone's face and land for a kill on the other side. Even if it happened to us, you could never really be that upset.
As an aside, whenever we hit someone in the face I always heard Marv Albert's voice in my head: "He serves up a facial!" It makes those plays infinitely more entertaining.

It was between that or "spiking the results" or "setting her ahead in the polls." The bump seemed a bit more subtle.
Apparently some TCU site must have just linked in to the poll. They just went from 10 to 40%.
Needs more Paz Rood.

TCU is killing us. Also, don't forget about the Liveblog.

That was one ROOD kill!
