Can’t also help to think that seeing the brotherhood love between the two all star studs in Blake the Great and The Don should simmer the expectations of losing one over the other. The two top 5 backs on one team are still going to eat. I’m sure UM is/was pitching that to Tatum

This is wishful thinking. Most RB recruits are immature 18 year olds and wanna be the guy.  It is a challenge for the staff to convince these 5 star RBs that its in their favor to have low mileage before the NFL.

Edwards and his great attitude toward it, is not the norm, and it is appreciated, because it permeates the entire team.

Hayes Fawcett (guy who did Marshall’s commit picture and does a lot of the college commitment graphics) who is tapped into the crootin scene tweeted out that Michigan is about to go on a serious run.

I assume this rankings list might have a little more bold lettering soon.

I’d be curious to see how these colossal jumps in rankings happen? Obviously camps but how is a OL dropping top 5 in state to out of top 10 in like Hamilton? Or Channing dropping almost 200 spots!

Has there been any other information in regards to Stewart and Scott? Those two seem like it’s a long shot to land them?

I don't subscribe to any...but a few of the pay sites are teasing stories that M has a good chance to compete with 'Bama for Stewart's pledge.

Last I saw on Scott from several weeks back was that his delayed commitment meant M still had a shot to land him.  (= He was going to commit to ND before he slowed things down.)

HUGE riser Aaron Scott was on campus this past weekend as well - posted googly eyes to the Marshall commit tweet - and Sam Webb had been dropping his name as a kid to watch out for in the rankings and with M in a recent podcast.  (prior to the visit)

He is also from the Cinci-area (I believe) and typically those kids are less locked in to tOSU.

Edit - was wrong on the Cincinnati bit - Springfield is halfway between Columbus and Dayton

The only ranking that matters to me is when Michigan is the unanimous #1 team in the country after winning the national championship by soundly beating Georgia or Alabama.

I’m quite sure all of these young men have a choice to make, with multiple offers to choose from.

Is there any college or university with as strong of a balance in athletics (football) and academics?

What team’s staff has been exceptional at developing talent?

Wishing them well as they reach their decision.  Go Blue!

Same, hoping the majority commit to the good guys. This post sparked my brain this morning - With the bottom falling out at Stanford, I would say the only college that balances athletics and academics is Notre Dame. USC could potentially get back there. If DeBoer can keep the trajectory moving upwards, maybe Washington. Can you think of any others?

I think Michigan develops talent well at almost every position, wide receiver being the exception. I think our problem with recruiting elite talent is that our development doesn't create many first round draft picks. Its wildly rare to take an above average high school athlete and mold them into a first round pick, so we end up having a number of players drafted in rounds 3+ of the NFL Draft (but I doubt they would become NFL players without the development at Michigan). That's a tougher sell than at Bama, Georgia, and OSU that take elite talent and just continue their trajectory. I think elite high school recruits see the first round picks and get wide-eyed. It won't ever happen, but I would love to see what this staff did with a roster full of the the talent that Alabama gets yearly.

This might sound like a cop out, but I'm not sure a lot of the elite 5* talent that ends up at some of the SEC schools would be a cultural fit at Michigan. I always think of the Aubrey Solomon saga at Michigan as a bit of a cautionary tale. He was a great athlete but was never going to fit in at the school. And sure enough, Michigan wasted a bunch of valuable recruiting resources to get him in the fold just for him to never accomplish too much here.
